The New Miata
Here is a link to some photos of the new Miata, totally undisguised, that I came accross on GM Inside News. Thanks to Sobe SVT over on the GM forums for getting these pics posted, wherever he may have found them.
Edit: Here are the pics in place of the link I gave earlier. Sobesvt posted these over on GM Inside News and requested that I give credit to autoblog.com for the find.

Here's an interesting little tidbit that I think relates to this thread:
It seems that the chief designer of the Miata's newest competitors has jumped ship!

Full story: Franz von Holzhausen has resigned from General Motors to join Japanese automaker Mazda, an affiliate of Ford Motor Co., as design director of North American Operations.
Von Holzhausen, who was design manager at GM, is best known as the designer of the original Pontiac Solstice concept. At GM, he was responsible for managing the design process for several production programs, including the 2006 Solstice and its sister car, the 2007 Saturn Sky.
Prior to GM, Von Holzhausen was assistant chief designer at Volkswagen.
At Mazda, he will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of all vehicles for the company's North American operations.

What this means to you: The zoom-zoom folks should be putting even more pizzazz into their future designs.

Can you say the new Sunbeam Tiger.Any information on if Mazda is going to offer a six cylinder as a performance upgrade?
Maybe a MazdaSpeed version?

A six cylinder Miata would really be cool
I'm a little disappointed with the headlight design, especially after hearing it might look something like the RX-8, which i find gorgeous. The headlights are just a little too round and close together for my likings. Everything else is awesome though, especially the interior.
Nothing about a six in the future.
The issue also has a first drive of the Mustang GT Vert, Saleen S-281(minus the goofy extra spoiler), and a really smoking Panoz Esperante GTLM. Powered by a Cobra 4.6L and six speed manual cranking out 420HP and 390Ft-Lb.
Also a nice comparison between Viper,Vette,Stang vs. F-16,F-18,F-14. Pretty funny read. Don't forget the BF Goodrich ad on the back of mag. 0-178 mph in 7.9 Sec. on street tires.
Mag is chock full of great Mustang stuff.

What Mazda needs to do is put the 270HP 2.3L twin turbo from the Mazdaspeed 6 in it. That would give it plenty of forward zoom-zoom while keeping the excellent weight distribution for the lateral zoom-zoom.
