Late last fall I won a silent auction (benefiting a scholarship fund for students) for either a Jaguar or Land/Range Rover for a weekend, and I choose the Jaguar this past weekend.
Very nice machine! XJL 5.0 with 12 miles on the odometer when I was handed the key fob. I had not driven a newer XJ and it was a blast! Had nice power and an even nicer "growl" from the exhaust. Drove/handled well and was darn nice inside as well . . . a few "gripes," but nothing too important as I was more interested in the driving portion.

Lot of other things I'd buy for that price.
But a very nice weekend I'm sure. Was you rollin' them ho's?

I wasn't rollin' Ho's, but did drive the wife and another couple to dinner and new casino in town.
The Jaguar does have look darn good though! I think I would choose it over a big BMW or S-Class if I had to choose.

No, in my opinion is wasn't worth $87K. Switch gear felt kind of cheap. But to be fair I haven't driven a vehicle this expensive for this duration. I drove 750iL about 11 years ago.

Perhaps it was karma that I won!Darn XJL is long too, but doesn't drive like it!! It is longer than the wife's Explorer.
Nice! I often hear those long before I see them when I'm downtown
I always thought they looked a bit too chunky, but I can't argue with that noise
Must have been a pretty fun drive as well

That's cool! I have a Jag, BMW, Land Rover dealership on my beat at work. There is also a Porsche Dealer across the street (technically the same dealer but, across the street is another patrol division). Needless to say, they get a LOT of extra patrol from me on nights when it's slow.
