Camaro V6 starts $24k
Got the latest Motor Trend last night and they had a big article about the V6 camaro. They quoted the base price at $24k.
If the V8 costs as much over the GT musatng then i dunno how they are going to compete.

Yep there is $3000 on V6 08's and $4000 rebates on 08 GTs. 09s have $1500 rebates also Plus if you are lucky enough to get the A,X,OR Z plan on top of that its a sweet deal going right now. Grab Yourself a new Mustang Boys!

No surprise on the Camaro pricing. The new SS will scorch our current GTs, but you'll have to pay for the privilege. Like I've been saying for a while now, they're targeting these things at the same financial demographic as folks who buy cars like 350Zs.

Thats what gonna bite them in the butt. People still think mustang fighter when they hear camaro. The people who can afford a 370z or g35 will only buy them and not a camaro which can't even offer sat nav

I think its a good price myself for what you get, but I think alot of Camaro guys were hoping it would meet or beat the Mustang's pruce since they are in what they percieve to a "Mustang" income bracket.
In the long term scheme of things the additional monthly cost of a Camaro doesn't amount to much, but given the average person's spending and saving habits that additional couple thousand dollars makes a good psychological dent.
I kind of chuckled after reading some of Scott Settlemire's comments on how they listened to the fans and gave them the car they were asking for. The F5 is a great car and I really hope it does well (but not as good as the Mustang for obvious reasons ;P ) but it seems like when you try and give folks exactly what they are looking for with the least amount of compromise (in this case a weight and price penalty - such as they are) they complain to high heaven that its not what they wanted at all.

A lot of guys on that site though, I'm GLAD they didn't design the car.... it would be another engine in a box.
On the other side of the coin, you have a platform that is great, but heavy...and the car pays the price for it. (same with the challenger)
The Mustang by comparison, will have size (and hopefully price) on its side,
and the goodies sound like they will lay waste to whats available on the challengers (pun intended)

Check this thread I saw at this camero forum. It has a price list. Not sure how legit it is.
