I have a brother-in-law who is a general contractor. He picked up his family in 2006 and moved to Maui and lived there for about 2 years. They just moved back in Dec. but he said he will return (after the divorce) and start his business again. He absolutely loved the place!! But he said it is really, really expensive to live out there.

Yep! its spendy... Dev said he signed 6 month lease on a 1 bedroom apt ...$ 2200.00 a month.. he said that was about average ... for anything decent...paradise aint cheep!! ..lol

 

A can of green beans in Maui was a little over $2 per can. In 2003.
