Some aluminum fascia came off of the house also. I guess that was Ike blowing thru. Karen was loading up all of our coolers to go find ice to try and save stuff in the freezer and frig. They say it could be a couple of days yet without power because a bunch of the line crews headed south toward Texas to help out down there.
Go get a generator. Best money I have spent. It saved us a couple of times.

Wow, we didn't have the high winds they were talking about. I'm sure we would have lost power if that had happened.

Hope you get hooked up soon Scott.
We clocked 75mph winds @ Columbus Int'l. No rain, but lots of people without power. 5-8 days before everybody is back up near where I work.
We were lucky, only lost power for a few hours here.

Can't believe I didn't have any trees come down. Neighbor lost 1.

Hi Guys,
Well day 2 without power at home. Took all the frozen stuff to a friends last night and have 4 big coolers with ice for most of the other stuff in the frig. Threw the rest in the trash this morning. Karen and I went into the YMCA this morning at 5:30 am to take a shower. Guess we will do that every morning until we get power. They are saying it maybe not be until over the weekend. I went 4 places last nite looking for a generator. No luck. They claim there is a shortage nationwide because of the Gustuv and Ike. Guess we will just tough it out. Little other choice. At least we still have a roof over our heads.

Dry ice works like a charm for freezers. Kept our freezer colder than when it ran, lol.

Wow, that's no fun at all. One of my friends lost power on Saturday all day due to a few transformers in his area shorting out from all the water. Power went out at 8am and didn't come back on until 3pm.

Did it make you feel nostalgic and whimsical about thinking back to your younger days back before they invented electricity?

Morning guys,
You too Nick! Going into day 3 without power. They said on the radio this morning there is still about 180,000 houses without power still. They claim they got about 25,000 homes back up over night. Maybe soon. And thanks for the offer Tom but one of the guys at work brought in a small 1000 watt generator today that I am going to take home to at least run the frig with. He got his power back last night.
