Indiana Meet and Greet, OH. ILL, KY, MI Welcome too
I started this thread to discuss a proposed TMS meet. Here are some locations I came up with. Here are a couple dates I'll throw out also, both are Sundays.
September 23rd
September 30th
Mounds State Park - Anderson, IN
Hooters - 6426 E. 82nd Street Indianapolis
Fort Harrison State Park - Indianapolis
Gray Brothers - Mooresville, IN
Eagle Creek Park
Brown County State Park
There are shelters available at the parks, but that would up the cost of the get together.
Obviously there are any number of places we could meet and that could be decided after we get a better count and the general direction everyone is traveling.
If we meet at a park, is there any interest in having a cook out/picnic. I would be willing to take care of the food, we could contribute through paypal or settle up at the meet. Everyone bring their own pop.
Feel free to add your ideas of dates and places, etc. This is to just get the ball seriously rolling.

I could do an Indiana get-togther, about a 4hr drive. Sept.23rd would not work for me as that week I'll be on call & can't leave the area, the 30th would work as well as Oct.
Lets just do this before it gets too cold! LOL
Eleanor Dreaming, thanks for getting started ,I'll nominate you to finalize & pick the place.
Thanks in advance.
My company operates the Lifeline helis in & around Indianapolis, I can tap on some local input & perhaps resources if it will help.I know a few people who live & work in the area. Let me know if I can help out.
Let me know if you needs funds for the get-togther, I can contribute via Paypal.

sounds like a lot of fun!...although...thats a pretty long drive for my 43 model year old car....I have no doubt she would make it...I'm just not sure If I want to listen to my exhaust for 3.5 to 4 hours...each way...Maybe I could borrow my dads '06...it had cruise control!...and a/c!
...about the date...i think October could be better for me...I work saturdays and sundays....(I'm a minister)....so I'll need more time in advance...but dont change the date becuase of me...if I cant make it, i cant make it.
I like the location...I went to school in Bloomington so I know the area pretty well.

The cabins are about 20 minutes west of Nashville. The wife and I have gone the week between Xmas and New years for the last 3 years. Those mooses at Solitude cabin on 12/25 thur 12/29 is us. You should try it. And you right the roads over there are great fun to drive in these cars. But we normally take the Explorer because the Stang stifles her shopping to much.

OK, here goes nothing. Everyone keeps talking about Brown County and October, how about this Brown County on Saturday, October 20th? I am going to guess everyone is familiar with the Brown County traffic that time of year.
Do we want to try to get a Shelter or do we just want to take our chances on getting a picnic area? There are some shelters still available at this time. I am guessing since it a pretty good drive for some we would want to make a day or close to a day out of it.

Ben,
That will work for me. I am not familiar with the traffic there though. Shelter or picnic area, really doesn't matter to me. I would suggest an alternate day in case of a rain out. I'll only be able to spend an afternoon there myself as I'll have a 3hr + drive each way. Will also have to bring my youngest with me as wife works Saturdays from 4-11.

Ben, I'm not familiar with it but if you think a shelter is a good idea then I say let's go for it. I can mark off the 20th, that's fine with me. Let's book something and make it work!

Hi Ben,
I think it might be best to get the shelter myself. That way we have a fixed area to meet and something to keep us dry if it did rain. It will be the peak of the fall color season over there and it will be busy. It is a very pretty area for a drive and to have a meet. Count me and the wife in. But if Brown county doesn't work for others I will go somewhere else. Scott
