HM..COULD BE ONE OF THE THINGS I TRY FRIDAY IF THE RAIN STAYS AWAY..i'm excited
I like to "pre-load" the shifter by pulling or pushing on the handle slightly before the shift. It helps the shifter come out of the previous gear a little faster. As the rpms come up you want to pre load the shifter and when you get to the desired rpm foot the clutch about half of where you normally push it and yank the shifter (or push) into the next gear. If done properly it all happens in about a 1/2 second. You have to paractice this as it is a little dicey to learn.
hmm..might give it a lil go right now i have to go to this class i'll be back on later tonight. see ya david
thanks for all the info
hope it helps
Yes, the shifter will be here on Thursday. We still on for 5 to install it?
So far 5 looks good here.
How tall is your jack? What I mean is, do you think it will fit under my spoiler so we can jack it up? Do I need to go borrow Paul's ramps?
It sits about 3" below my factory spoiler Is that short enough?
We could always jack it from the rear and have the same results I think. The shifter sits pretty well centered in the car so I think it will be fine.
It might be low enough. If worse comes to worst we can do it the other end like you suggested. I'll bring the tools needed since you have the jack and jack stands and are gracious enough to give me a hand.
I'm looking forward to the install. I think it will be worlds of difference over even the Saleen adaptor
Well speaking for the difference between the stocker and the Steeda it's like night and day. Also If you don't feel like bringing tools I have every tool under the sun.
Is anyone else coming to the shifter install? all group members are welcome!
If it helps, I'll pay for pizza
or some other food, if people don't want pizza
sounds good I'm hungry!
Sorry dooooodes. Can't make it tonight. Busy, busy week.
They just bump the chance of rain for tomorrow to 90%... Wonderful.

Good news. I spoke with SCT this AM. The tuner is already fixed and is being shipped to me today. I should have it in just a few days. Bad news is they erased my stock tune and my car has a 91 tune in it. They said that the tuner we see the 91 as a stock tune. I guess I could go to BHF and have them flash it with the stock tune and then plug the tuner in. Problem is is that the stock tunes have been updated from Ford and the strategies will change. I guess I'm stuck.
Sounds like track time is not going to happen. I hate rain. We'll see if it actually happens.
