You guys will have to feel the shifter next time we're all together you'll like it I think. But no extra noises like urathane bushing noise or the like. squeeking and so forth.

I will say again that the install is a royal P.I.T.A. It took me about three hours from start to finish. Perhaps with an extra set of hands it might go faster. I also think that if you place the car on jack stands at all four corners might help. I only had the front on stands. Also the directions you get SUCK! THey tell you that you can pre assemble the beam onto the shift housing and snake it into the tunnel from above .......Yea right! I had to assemble the beam onto the shifter from under the car. I spent the better part of an hour trying to get the thing into the tunnel

It would probably be worlds easier on a lift too. If I get one, I may install it when I go home to visit on my dad's lift for convenience.

How much was the Tri-Ax? What was the best price you found for the Pro 5.0? What do you think of the Pro 5.0?

The tri-ax was like 279 I think I got it from brenspeed so I just paid the $3 to ship. I think the pro-50 is basically the same design but I couldn't find it that cheap. I think either one more than likely performs as well as the other.

If you have access to a lift then it would be much easier. But I will say that you have to get in and out of the inside of the car a few times so the lift might be somewhat cumbersome as well. I took some pics I think when I get time I'll do a write up with my own experience directions for the web site. I'll be sure to add what I found out the hard way. Perhaps the next chap wont have to suffer as much as I did.

Somthing else to consider is doing the shifter when you do the drive shaft as it will be super easy to install with the shaft out of the car.

Install with pics sounds good. i think you could make the lift work if someone was in the car and another person was under the car.

I just ordered a Pro 5.0 for 269 with free shipping from Atomic Performance. Hopefully they ship it by Monday and then it should be here in a week. Now, if only that stupid driveshaft would ship.

I appreciate it. It all depends on when it comes in. If it comes in on Thursday maybe we could do it that night or something. It would be awesome if I could have it for the track.

Drag radials is all I need. Those have to wait until May. Darn birthday being in May and all. I think I am going to go with BFG Drag radials from tirerack.com

I saw on one of the threads about some guy using the stock spare wheel and placing skinny radials on them and using them for skinny front runners. Has anyone heard of this? Will the stock spare rim take that kind of use? If it can handle it tires are cheap in the small size and might make a good inexpensive alternitive to custom wheels (bogarts) for skinnies

I have the wheels since I already had one and I just ordered another. I am actually going to switch the new one out with my left front rim. My left front has a bit of curb rash and the new one does not. The extra I have also has some curb rash so they will match. Now they just need tires. Too bad the drag radials are 165 each plus shipping.

What do you think of heating a tire? if you go to tirerack and try ordering drag radials you can have them heat your tires for you. They say it is like curing them or breaking them in properly. It costs 15 per tire. Your thoughts...

Hmmmm. I have heard of them doing tires in a VHT bath before or after mounting but I haven't heard of the heat treatment. I guess it might work? But I think a good smokey burnout on the first few passes will do the same trick.

I see Paul just logged on what do you think Paul?

Paul you have to order a shifter now since Jeff and I have one and its gonna make us 1/2 sec faster. Since you have to reach into the back seat to shift into 2nd gear with the stocker.

Shifters... blah blah blah... Mods don't make a driver.... You guys are missing the point. TIRES! Everything you do... Steer, accel, brake are translated through your tires. You can have a gazzion HP car but if you're running on skinny *** 8 inch tires... it doesn't mean poo... Tires... most important part of your car.

I'll be waxing the cars (Stang and Edge) tomorrow. Anyone wanna come to Paul Mustang Emporium is welcome to. Jeff- Good time to do the spring install.
