The acetone (or fingernail polish remover that contains acetone) seems to take more work/rubbing and it's more likely damage will occur. I have used both and the carb cleaner is far superior. I have experienced a lot of damage using acetone and getting impatient. But even some Hotwheels are very resistant to the carb cleaner (Mooneyes Chevelle wagon for one and some trucks, too).

Yes, hence why I said the same precautions apply.

Thanks Luke, I'm really pleased with it!

I just wish I had the skill to do modifications like this (the paint looks better than what comes as standard from Hotwheels!).

It would be cool to be able to get bespoke models made. I'd by this 1/18 Mach 1 tribute in a hearbeat!

Oh totally! That guy is well known in the model car world. He writes articles for Scale Auto Magazine.

I got these hard to find Shelby Collectibles '13 GT500s in today from eBay. A really decent price, too.

I decided to change the less than exciting wheels that came on the Shelby Collectibles '13 GT500s.

Much better!

Nice! Which? I hope you didn't pay too much. They are really not worth what a lot of "collector's" say they are!
