Rakshas, there will be no 3 series split. A German car mag called Autiblid said that the 3 series would split with the next model line up, with the 3 series being wagon and sedan, and the coupe and convertible would be named the 4 series. It turned out to be bad information though, and it just spread around too fast to stop it. I know even one of the big mags over here posted the same info, but I have been researching it for quite a while and found the claim to be false.

By the way, Brad and mods, I have yet to find a site with such reliable subject knowledge and fact-based conversation as this one. Bravo!
