Sure, the interiors come on...but with a little ambient light (street laps, per say) and window tint, you can't see the interior lights when they are on. It'd be nice to really be sure the car has been unlocked. Just flash all the ambers.

Ok now i'm curious.

there's GOTTA be a way to make it do this - esp if it does it on "lock" functions.

i smell winter project...

I agree with 06GT. In this day and age, I consider it a GOOD thing that my car does not announce to everyone in the parking lot: 1) that's my car right there, and 2) it is now unlocked.

Only Ford vehicles available with the autolamp feature will illuminate the headlights when unlocking them. The 500 and Fusion will do it. I think its kind of an annoying feature.

It does look dumb, one thing that also works, not as well, but when it does i have been a good distance. I hold it against my leg in my pocket. Like I said it doesnt always work the first time, but works further than just holding out the remote.

I noticed this the first day I had the car. I traded in a 2002 Mazda B4000 (ford truck) and the range was at least 200 feet, more if I was on higher ground. Once I even set off the panic alarm from inside my building, which is a good 300 to 400 feet away. If I ever forgot where I parked I could just hit the lock button a couple of times and it would honk at me.

I've thought about changing the batteries out in the remote, but if everyone's having the issue it must be the recieving unit that's the problem. What does that use as an antenna, anyone know?

i find the mustang to have great range - you want bad range? get a last gen Audi.

i literally would have to stand within touching range of the car to have the FOB work...i'd sometimes forget if i had locked the car and would end up having to walk all the way back just to check.

for me, the holding-the-fob-to-your-chin technique came from my audi-enthusiast friends...it was ridiculous.

I believe that the signal is sent through RF.

I picked up my new '06 TG/blk last night. Car is in the parking lot of my office bldg today. I just tried my key fob from my 4th floor office, more that 200' feet from the car. Works just fine!

Must be the new batteries...

I'm so freakin **** i won't park in a huge parking lot. If I need to go to a store or anywhere with a huge parking lot I take wifes Explorer. If you wanted to keep your lights on to see getting in the house why not get those special rear views? I just noticed today that the range on my fob sucks too. 15 ft at the most.
Having the lights blink when the car is unlocked is a good idea IMO but anything thats gonna use the battery even more I would shy away from.
