I want my car to be delivered around April 1st. What I plan on doing is emailing price requests to about 40 dealers in the area with the specific options I want. This worked well for a few people I know. I think I found a dealer too close by that sells cars at invoice. I would be happy with that.

Premium GT
Redfire
Charcoal/Red interior
17" wheels
Active Anti-theft
IUP

How long do you think this will take? I'm thinking I should go ahead with this ASAP due to IUP delays. Yes? No?

Most people take requests better by phone then email; it’s a bit more personal.

What you can do either way is place your order right away but have them set your priority high so it wont be pulled until 8 weeks before so you will have your car on time. So I say place the order as soon as you can, at worst it can sit in the queue.

I agree, phone is better. Unless you want to be on 40 new marketing/spam lists.

I emailed several dealers... only about 50% responded but they were all nice enough to put me on their spam lists.

Right now the plant is scheduling orders for February build. If you order within the next 2 weeks or so, you should get a spot for March build. With that in mind, dealers are still limited to how many IUP orders they can fill each month so it is best to get in the front of the line for that March, otherwise, you might have to wait until April.

I ordered 2 weeks ago, with IUP. I talked to my dealer this morning. He said he talked to his rep, who told him that although nothing is scheduled yet, I can probally expect a mid April delivery. (My dealer has allocation, so thats no issue for me). Therefore, getting a begining April delivery may not be possible at this point. Anythings possible though.

Dust...the concensus on the site is 8-12 weeks for delivery...so for April, I'd order now. Realistically though, with the IUP issues, I'd expect a May delivery if you ordered now.

My $0.02.

I would order now if I were you. Things are moving very slowly right now. If they do happen to speed up, what's the worse that can happen? You'll have your car a little bit earlier than you planned. Also, just curious....you said the dealer was too close to you? Is he a noisy neighbor?
