NON LEATHER STEERING WHEEL???

I have the same question, have you seen and felt the non leather steering wheel?
The short answer is we are vegan, and are uncomfortable with the leather wheel. If you didn’t know what Vegan is, it is Native America for “lousy hunter”. :-)

I thought that had to do with what you eat, what's it have to do with a steering wheel?

You don't eat it because you think it's wrong to kill cows or whatever, so a leather steering wheel could be condoning killing cows. Even though you could just say it is from someone else that had to have a burger.

Well, everything dies at some point, there is a lot more than a leather steering wheel on the car that is the result of a dead animal.

Right, like the gas we put in it. Perhaps we should stop using petro? Those poor poor dinosaurs. Oh, wait. Plastic comes from petroleum as well. Oops. Maybe the "good" steering wheel isn't that good. Poor poor dinosaurs.

Oh, and you're wrong, Holderca1. I'm not going to die. I'm going to live on and on forever and ever in heaven because I :worship: . God bless america, buy american, and all that other right wing "stuff."

I wrestled with the same issue as you did. It seems to me that the V6 is more practical. Then I remembered - I'm not buying a Mustang to be practical! After I realized that, the GT was the only choice! Additionally, I sold my '67 coupe (w/V8) to get my '05, and I can't see going back to 6 cylinders.

No matter what, you'll have a Mustang!

Being vegan works for us, we don’t eat or use any animal products directly including many things people don’t even think of an animal products like gelatin, many soaps and bunch of other things. But I leaned along time ago the “Holy Spirit” (replace with your term) doesn’t say the same thing to everyone, and some never listen anyway and I wish I could tune in better than I do.

Gasoline or petrol is plant bio mass mostly algae and other simple plant and animals life form, the official statue of limitations for vegans is 1 million years so if you could find a million year old cow it would be in trouble. javascript:emoticon('')
smilie

These differences don’t matter for what ever reason we are Mustang nuts, I think it’s the conmen love a freedom that Mustang represents that we will always agree on.

Think of this way now you can tell your friend you know of a guy that is a conservative, environmentalist and is vegan and wants a Mustang GT that is going to have a hard time deciding to ride his bicycle to work or drive the Mustang. FREEDOM isn’t it great!

Back on topic: any thing I need to add to the list?

Not that I can think of Dan - had a list almost identical to mine when I ordered - I think with those reminders, you'll be plenty happy (and safe from your dealer )

Look don't flame me for this post.

I was discussing the leather thing with the wife about MustangDan's post regarding being Vegan.

Wife staes the "leather" currently being used in most new cars (high dollar exotics excluded) is actually man made and not real animal hide leather.

She states its just a high grade vinyl used nowadays. Real leather hasn't been used in years.

Anyone have any input.

The way that I understand it, the seating surface is actually real leather, basically the center cushions. The rest of the seats, the wings, backs, headrests, etc. are vinyl. Check out the fact that most manufacturers have options for leather seating surfaces, and not leather seats. This is the reason why.

As far as I am concerned, Ford leather is not leather, at least not in my truck. They claim it is a "leather seating area" and the rest is vinyl. As far I am concerned, it is all vinyl. GM's leather is like that too. I think the correct term is "McDonald's leather" but I could be mistaken.

All right now I'm going to show my stupidity. (and my age)

The first cars I bought back in the 70's and early 80's were "vinyl" because that's all I could afford. After that I bought cloth because I had kids. Now the kids are older and I can't get real leather?

If Ford states it's a leather interior then it should be real animal hide leather.

What happened to Ricardo Montalban and the real "corinthian leather"?

Well, as I said, the insert (seating surfaces), as they advertise, are "real" leather, but I would assume it is pretty low grade stuff, relative to higher end manufacturers.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess it just comes down to DNA testing on the surfaces. j/k

Things aren't the way they used to be. I'm just happy as you know what to get the car and have something other than the cheap cracking vinyl of old and cloth for a change.

Besides the vegan aspect, I like how Ford gave us the “MUSTANG” written on the v6 cloth seats, and I love how Ford gave us the Mustang Pony stampeding across the GT’s cloth seats.

I think you made a wise choice.

There is no comparison between the GT and the V-6. I am not bashing the 6, it is a good car, but with the GT you get so much more.

Hope you get your GT soon !

i couldnt agree with u more here. now me still being in school and everything its common that alotta people i go to school with drive v6's. my friend just got an 02 gt. some other person has a 96 gt. but i decided to go the extra mile and save for the 05 GT which im proud to say i ordered and have been waiting only a month for. its tough i need a car soon but i can get by for the time being. but back to talking about the fact that u get so much more, u do. not bashing the v6 but i definitely feel that u get more outta the GT especially for its price. pretty much on the interior the cars can be the same but once u step on that gas its a whole nother ballgame :worship: B)

Your ideology is a little odd, but that's what makes this country great.
I don't mean odd in a bad way, just different. I give you kudos for that.

Pray to the almighty in all things, you will not go wrong.

Your list looks good.
