I just put my GT in for a CEL. Called them back this afternoon and the tech was acquiring a coil pack to replace the one that caused the light to turn on. I guess I should ask them about the flash/reprogram of the ECU. If I am reading these posts correctly then the "coil pack" error might be a false error and Ford is needlessly replacing them. I wouldn't want to waste their time or mine because of this. I am I thinking in the right direction or could the coil pack error actully be a valid error?
Ken, if you are getting the car serviced at Beach Ford, let me know if they have the reflash. Not having any issues yet but would like to know if those guys have it or have info on it. Ment to ask them when I got my 1,500 mile free service they offer last week.
hi KENP and BEACHBOY The reflash is the correct repair for this concern, replacing the coil will most likely be bounced by ford . there is a tsb for this to reprogram the pcm TSB # is 04-26-02 i would inform your dealer about this , the reflash has be available for over a month now i have done a couple
hope this helps

I finally took mine in last Thursday after the CEL came on once again. The tech gave me a copy of the TSB and it reads as follows:
TSB 04-26-22
Publication Date: December 23, 2004
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated with multiple diagnostic trouble codes (DTCS) P035X and no driveability symptoms - 4.6L 3V Engine
ISSUE
Some 2005 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 4.6L 3-valve engine, may exhibit the MIL illuminated with multiple ignition coil related DTCs (P035X) and no driveability symptoms. The DTCs are typically set during deceleration.
ACTION
Do not replace ignition components for this condition. Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B34.10, or B35.1 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.

I have my car back from my dealer. Here is whats on the order in the tech Notes section:
Code PO355, Monitored PIDS; Performed Power Balance Test, Switch Coil To Cylinder 6; Replaced Coil Pack; Programmed PCM, Post Test O.K.
I was told that the coil pack needed to be replaced and they programmed the PCM with the latest calibration as listed in the TSB's.
I also asked about the fuel filler problem. Universal answer of "FORD knows about and has not given out a fix for it yet".
The end result was a new coil pack for #6, PCM programmed to the correct calibration, and a "DUNNO about the gas" situation. I'm real happy with my dealer, they took care of me and the car.

I now have around 1,000 miles on my 05 gt, and my service engine soon light popped on at around 875 after some hard acceleration. I'm taking it in to my local Ford tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen yet, and if so what was the cause?
By the way, this car is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Ken. I used Beach Ford because the family friend that gave me the X-plan had a salesman there he has used for 20+ years, so I felt inclined to use the same guy. It seemed right since I was saving a bundle on cost. The order and sales trans. was very smooth so I am pleased so far. Maybe I will see ya around, good luck to you.

I'm sure we may cross paths sometime. I'm always looking at the other '05's on the road. With the warmer weather around the corner I'm sure we are all going to be fixing our cars up a bit more. I know I am going to be looking for ideas.
eace:
I got the check engine light on my new GT this week. The car is missing badly at idle, but still shows 26 mpg at 70 mph. Performance is terrible. I was really loving this car. I only have 700 miles on it. The first sign of a problem was the AC became eractic, then the miss, then the engine light.
I plan to drop her off at the dealer this afternoon or in the morning.
Any one else have this engine problem? It feels like a spark plug wire fell off.
