Does anyone know what the current wait time to order a new Mustang GT is? I realize that it varies by region and from dealer to dealer depending on allocation. I am just looking for an average time for the midwest (St. Louis) region. I don't know if it matters, but I will probalby be using X-plan too. Thanks!

From what I've read, the wait time might be until the MY06. I'm fortunate, my wait time is from when I go to sleep until I drive to work! Order ASAP - you won't be disappointed

I'm from St. Louis and I ordered in January and it is being built tomorrow. I don't know of a dealer in our area that can order a 2005 for you, it would have to be a 2006.

Yeah, I figured it was going to be a while. I talked to a couple of dealers in March and they all told me at that point that it would most likely be a MY06 if I ordered. They were pretty consistant with a response of about a six month wait too. That was right before Ford announced they were upping production though. I didn't know if that had changed the wait time or not.

Check Gary Yeomans Ford in Daytona Beach. I know of at least one person placing an order for an '05 tomorrow. I place mine last week (after waiting on my local dealer since 1/17), got serialized last Friday and have a build week of 6/13.

Your question is somewhat confusing... There is no wait time to order a GT. However, based on allocation and what not there is a peroid of wait time to get built and then shipped.

Most folks on here are seeing pretty lengthy waits for a GT to get built. I think most dealers stopped taking 05 GT orders and will only accept 06 GT orders. The only way around that is to find a dealership that just isn't selling Mustangs (which hurts allocation) , order a GT Vert, or wait until 06.

For me (I ordered V6 coupe) it took about 2.5 months to get serialized and 3.25 months to get built. That was with 3 Mustang orders in front of me with what I'm guessing is average allocation for a dealership.

The time from the order date to delivery was the wait I was talking about. Sorry about the confusion.
