I know this board has alot of enthusiasts and of course, that mean V8 muscle fans. However, 210 horses in the V6 is nothing to sneeze at. Heck, it comes in near the HP of the old V8.

Anyhow, come out of the woodwork and let us know if you are ording the V6 coupe.

It sure seems like a great value. Load one up, even with the IUP, Shaker (either version), etc. and it comes in a whole lot cheaper than the 8.

-proc, who is probably getting the 8, just cuz, but want to hear from the v6 crowd....

That would be me- black, dark charcoal and white stripes...Insurance is cheaper and I like the v6's bells and whistles better.

Im 27 years old, have a few accident way back, but my driving record is clean for the last 6 years.

I pay 98$ per month for full coverage Insurance on my 2001 V6 Mustang.
My insurance agent has quoted me 117$ for insurance on a 2005 Mustang GT.

Atleast in my case insurance isn't that much more. Other people who have a spotter driving record or who are younger might have a harder time at it.

I'm with you, Proc. 210 HP is plenty.

The GT cost 5K more than the V6. Not to mention higher insurance and fuel costs. Is it worth an extra 5K out of my bank account for the GT? Not to me.

I'm planning to get a V6. Not a coupe, though; I'm waiting for the convertible.

I am in a bit of a quandry about it.

There is much I like about the V6 '05 'stang. Styling wise, it's much cleaner, more appealing to me. Having built a '66 6cyl mustang and won a few awards with it, it was a simple car, simply made, and simply styled.

However, I also have driven a 280 HP Mark VIII for a while now, and going down in power might not please me. No matter what the styling issues. (Or the headaches that monster has given me...)

I think that I'm going to get the v6. I just like it better visually, and hey, it's still 200 hp. Not too shabby. insurance should go down, I don't have to modify it any to get the styling I like. Tires will be cheaper too. And those spinner wheels I've always liked.

The only thing that makes me slightly nervous is the experiences I've seen some of my friends and family with the 3.8 and the like v6s when they break. My boss spend 6 months trying to get the thing to run right. Shop after shop. Maybe it's where he took it or something. But he's not the only one that's had issues with them.

I sure miss the ol' 5.0s. and their AODs. Those were amazing. Rock solid reliabilty. Oh well, times a changin'

Probably v6. Yeah. Unless windfall currency changes my mind.

'course there's just one problem right now that's preventing me from getting one, and that's the color situation inside or out. If they'd offer Blazing copper, then it's that and tan cloth. If they'd make an ALL red interior, the it'd be that with Performace White.

But they don't. Guess I'm waiting anyway.. :P

I agree, my V8 T-Bird is only 200 hp.

I think the V6 is nice, I have owned two V6 Mustangs already. (But this time I opted to the GT)

v6 for me, I have a 97 v6 and I love it. Selling it to my dad for cheap (keep it in the family).

I'm getting a black v6, charcol interior, all the upgrades minus security, and shaker 1000. The total came to 24,390 if i'm correct.

I was going to get the V6 this spring but I decided to wait and get the GT based on looks as far as the more muscular look of the Gt and you can't beat the sweet rumbling sound of the V8. I might even wait a few years and get a used 05 or 06 GT if they are available and pay less and the insurance doesn't matter with my Allstate. The difference is $17 dollars more per month for the GT so it is worth getting the GT. Don't get me wrong that V6 is nice and I love the wheels plus that 4.0L engine is by far the best V6 to put in that car. A great alternative now then in the past.

I had my dealer enter the numbers for me for a GT. With what I want on it, it came out (with X-Plan, tax, etc.) to $27,800. The same car, but with the V6 in it, comes out the door for $23,100, a $4700 difference.

I ordered a V6, maily because of the price and insurance. Its hard for me to justify paying $90 a month more in payments and proboly $80 more a month in car insurance for a car that most likely would get me more tickets. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a GT but I have had 3 V6s so far and I was happy with them, so I'm sure I will be happy with this one. I do want to find a way to mke it sound alittle more like a GT though. V6s don't have that sweet GT sound. But otherwise V6s have always treated me pretty good.

A V6 for me also. I have had a couple of GT's. Insurance, gas mileage, and keeping a clean driving record are my reasons for opting for the V6.

Sign me up for V6 Premium - and thanks for this forum. I am probably in a different situation than most here - late 40s with kids that will be driving in a year or two. As much as I'd love a GT I won't go there till my kids are up and out. My wife and I have owned a red 66 convertible for the 18 years we've been married and so the front of the V6 without fog lights and the spinner wheels will be very similar to our vintage 66. I am undecided about the color to buy - really really wish there was a deep blue - not as bright as Sonic - and every bone in this accountant's body is repulsed at the thought of paying MSRP. So we'll see. Maybe a Windveil Blue V6 Premium with parchment cloth will be ordered next month after I see a few in person.

Yes 210 is very good but what I really love about the GT is the Torque! Off the line it's awsome! Ford has a way of making sure lots of torque is in the low end of the RPM range and you can really feel it too

Well, the V6 has 235 lb/ft of torque (right?)! That's not too shabby, either.

In a perfect world I would get the GT. But I live in New Jersey land of high insurance costs, and with the price of gas I am going with the v-6. Its over 200 H.P thats more than my 64.5 289 v-8 had. I would love to get the 5-speed to go with the v-6!
That sounds like its going to be a fun car to drive, and at an incredible price too!
