Top 10 Car Colors For 2005
That's a pretty old article (it's from January), but I always find the "most popular / least popular" color articles pretty misleading anyway.
Since the vast majority of vehicles are not ordered (they're bought off lots), they typically fall within the manufacturer's chosen color allocation. Therefore, if a manufacturer makes 25% of their vehicles silver, or black, or white, or whatever - then 25% of sales will be that color... funny how it works out that way
Although it's not very tough to figure out that you won't sell very many black on black cars in warm weather states.

I would think the manufacturers marketing folks do some research on what people like. If not, they might have alot of cars unsold.
It's still all a personal preference. Thought it matched up with the new Blue and Gray colors for 06.

...and black owns...I live in South Texas and I bought my stang in the middle of summer (100 degree weather). It's black on black with leather interior...yeah, it's an oven, but I love black...

"In sports cars or even sportier models, "People are willing to take a chance with a brighter color," says Leighton. Brighter blues, reds, yellows are a hit."
