After reading some of the posts here , it looks like some people are waiting a long time to get their orders. If I was to order tomorow who knows when the car would come in. I would hate to order now and get it after ford starts taking orders in August. I think I'm just gonna wait save up a little more money and maybe put an order in 06 maybe the cobra if the price isn't too much .Can't wait to get the official news on the 06!!!
Question. Will ford take orders on the cobra the same time they start taking the 06 gt orders??????

Seeing as I've been told by 4 dealerships now that if I ordered it would have to be an 06 because Ford is backlogged so bad, I too would like to know when the info is coming out.

I had a feeling that this was going to start happening. That's ok for me . Looks like an 05 is not gonna happen unless I buy one off the lot, but I haven't seen one mustang on any of the lots around here.

WOW!! That stinks. Sooo. If I was to order a mustang next month. I would be waiting until almost fall to get it. Makes no sense to me to order one now . I'm definatley waiting to place an 06 order. Time to put my 95 cobra back on the road and take the for sale sign off.

Hopfully all the bugs will be worked out in 06!!!!
It would be nice if Ford decided to stop making the mazda 6 in the same plant to get more mustangs built faster.

Wow!!! I feel for you guys up north. Here in Tampa/ St. Pete, I know of 3 Dealerships that have over 50+ Mustangs on their lot. One has over 100. Grant it 2/3rds of them are V6s but they do have many on their lots down here. May want to check Freedom Ford in Clearwater, Bill Currie Ford in Tampa and Brandon Ford in Tampa. I believe all have internet websites. Good Luck.

We are leaning STRONGLY towards getting a 2006. Titanium if its offered, silver if not.
No not replacing Eleanor, we will replace the Alero.

Very true. The news isn't very encouraging for anyone wanting to order an '05. I learned that recently. But I'm still giving it my best shot! My only regret in getting an '06 is that it wouldn't be in the color I finally settled on! Oh well, it's just skin deep anyway. Any 'Stang would have the soul of a wild pony, right?

I ordered 12/16 - and was told build date will be late April. This weekend I drove by several KC area dealers to see if they had any GTs, out of curiousity. None to be found - all V6 models! None, and KC is a fairly big town!

Yeah I think this really is the time to start considering to wait for a 2006 or not. I mean, I don't think anyone has any idea of what changes are in store for the car in the new year. I have a feeling it might be fore the worse. I say that considering that mycolor and IUP got canned basically.

Maybe keep making fake car payments and pickup a cobra when it comes out... or whatever they are going to call it. Those drilled rotors look sexy!
