My order has just been serialized and I'm getting my $ in order and beginning to think about mods. I already have CAI w/Tuner, Exhaust, LCA's, Springs, and gears in mind.

I am thinking about having all of them ready when the car comes in, but I'm wondering if Ford will make any small tweaks to change the way any of those fit.

Is anyone else with an 06 order gonna have parts ready and just hope everything is 100% the same and all fits?

Or are you gonna wait and see if there are any issues with maybe a change in position of a exhaust hanger, changes in the computer, slight change in suspension because of the 18inch wheel option, etc.. basically anything that would cause fitment issues with 05 aftermarket parts on the 06?

I have already begun collecting parts. I have a corner of our guest room dedicated to parts for our new baby. I too, am hoping that nothing changes fitment wise, or else there will be more parts on ebay.

I wouldn't worry about it. Ford has already listed the few minor things that will be different, which is basically exterior paint and a new IUP color. It takes a lot of time/planning to make sure they have all the parts together to build so many cars every day and the less they change between model year the faster they can make them.

I'll probably give in and say the heck with it. If anything changes I'll deal with it.

Well, I've already got moleskin for the inner door window seal so I can have that installed with my tint/stereo. Though I heard Ford may have fixed that mid '05.

I'll have my Cornfield keychain at the ready...

Already mentioned tint and stereo (try to stick w/ Shaker 500 H/U, will upgrade speakers and amps first - see if I can get my hands on a JL Audio Clean Sweep for the EQ)...

Will look into getting SLP Loudmouths...

And...definitely the day it arrives I will drive it about .5 mile from the dealership where I pick it up to the tire store to have them put on BFG g-force KDWS 245/50's on the fronts and 285/40's on the rears. Ford...you're missing out - dump those 235's!

Its possible on the front that the 245's could rub the strut springs. Maybe thats why they aren't putting them on. With the differences in tire widths between manufacturers, they may not have wanted to risk it. Sometimes they will switch tire brands during a run and if the other tires are close, they don't want to take the chance.

I am a little hesitant to order anything especially after all the people that didn't get their '05s. Or the dealer might try to pull some B.S. I have everything in writing though. Or the car might have something major wrong with it when it arrives. Tons of orange peel for example. I'm trying to hold off but probably wont be able to for much longer.

Got a V6 Pony Package on order. The mods I am looking at so far are aesthetic in nature. I will wait when I get the car on some of the other mods, when I see it person.

Things I am looking at, add some 60's lettering and emblems in the interior. Some of the 60's or 70's glove compartment had a pony/tri-bar logo. Also, '69 had "Mustang" on the exterior (see Timeline on TMS). I wonder why the '05 or the 06 don't have the word Mustang on the exterior? (Exception, pony package stripe) Not that it really needs the word, given it IS a Mustang, but just wondering.

That to say, I will leave major mods till I can feel and touch my car.

goat678,
Check this thread out, 255s on 17s. They'll look great on 18s as well.
