I also recommend getting a quote from progressive online. I am 26, single, have full coverage at 250,000/500,000 liability and $500 deductible collision on both my GT vert and '99 Jeep Cherokee. Also have all the other additions possible, all maxed out. U pay $550 / 6 months.

I have a 05 GT, I'm 22 with a perfect driving record and i pay $2800 a year with State Farm. Its actually less than my 2000 F350. Give State Farm a try.
State Farm has all my insurance including home owners and a RV and I pay less than half what you pay on the GT I have been in four wrecks that were not my fault in about twenty years and one that was. I paid for that one out of my pocket.

Wow, 8K a year, that's ridiculous...

Anyway, my advice is to take the highest deductible you can, that'll lower the price somewhat... Good Luck

darn I have progressive and I think I pay 1500 for six months with 1 speeding ticket. I know this sounds wierd but it worked for me before. I had a 94 tbird v8 and insurance was expensive (cant remember what exactly) so I bought a cheap old ford ranger for 100 dollars and got running and made that my so called "primary driving" vehicle and my tbird "occasional driver" and saved like 150 a month. Wierd but worked.

Holy crap! $8 grand a year for car insurance? Like everyone else said, you should shop around for a better rate. Progressive will give you an easy way to find lower insurance rates, even if it's not theirs.

When I still drove a 1999 Honda Civic, I was paying $200/month to Bristol West Insurance. When I switched to Progressive last year, my rate went down to $168/month. It got much better when I traded in the Civic for my Windveil Blue V6. I now pay $137/month.

Yikes on all those high rates... I'm 49, and pay $997 per year full coverage.....and I think that's too much. I could have knocked off $410 per year if I had gotten a V-6, so that is what the 300 horses got me, besides the permanent 's
