Wow. That's some slow cable internet..
It's a community owned utility company. We have to keep the rates low and in doing so we must offer something in their price range. We have greater speeds available, but most people choose to go the cheap route.

i have sirius on my kenwood excelon head unit in my grand prix. i absolutely love the service and the stations. my wife liked it so much we had to put one in her camry

the only complaint i have is the sound quality. essentially, sirius is streaming mp3's to you via satellite. for those of you who are computer nerds like me, it is roughly the equivalent of a 112k mp3.

how does it affect me? well, in the grand prix, i have memphis studio component speakers run thru nakamichi amps, so i can hear the sound quality degredation compared to cd's.

in my wife's camry with bone-stock everything, the sirius sounds fantastic.

i do not have a smilar comparison with xm

the sound quality problem is a million times less annoying than all of those freakin commercials on regular FM radio tho also, my monthly fee is $11.99/mo and i added my wife's for $6/mo.

i can't wait till mancow or stern are on sirius

Yes and no.

You don't have to just activate the subscription. You have to buy the antenna and something else that actually turns the head unit on, then you activate the service. Going through ford for the rest of the necessary stuff can get kinda pricey.

go to best buy and get the sirius jam pack for around $150 if you dont mind a totally portable receiver u can put in ur car, take out put in a boom box, ur home, whatever. it comes with the car adapter (wireless fm modulator) All you have to do is install (or have installed) the sirius antenna and plug the unit into ur cig lighter. Best buy charged me $30 for install on the antenna.
