Wire Wheels Look Good on Older Jag's, and I liked them on my 83 Avanti II, but they're a Pain in the rear to keep clean.

PS: this isn't My 83 it's a 64 But they Looked Identical with the exception of the front wheel opening being an inch smaller, or lower on an Avanti II. I don't have any Good Pic's of my Avanti scanned yet.

I am sorry that I touched a nerve. Practically speaking, they would be hard to keep clean. I still think they look cool on a vert. Not Gold, but Silver.

Has anyone seen other styles of knock off wheels with hub adapters?

Here's a pin-drive wheel that I think would be a knock-out on an 05 Mustang:

Centerlock wheels are sometimes also referred to pin-drive - as the center "stud" and nut holds the wheel on, short pins sticking out of the hub (similar to lug nut studs) engage holes in the back of the wheel to keep it from turning relative to the hub - locking it in place so to speak.

Gott'a admit, a set of these on a modern iteration of a Shelby 350/500 would look awesome!

I agree about the washing. Pain in the hiney (I actually typed hiney to save the language filter some work).

But I think sometimes wire wheels look fantastic. My parents have a Black 1990 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with wire wheels. It looks amazing.

04 GT Vert, thanks for the info. They would look great on the '05. Where can I get more info on them?
