Thumbs up

I ordered my 2005 on Friday. I got a windveil blue GT premium with dark charcoal interior, IUP, and spoiler delete. The salesman was a friend of mine and he said the sales manager told him to expect the new mustangs to start arriving at the end of august ( they had six others on order). Maybe just wishful thinking.

I have X-plan but he submitted it as A-plan. He thought that A-plan orders might precede dealer orders. Anyone ever heard that before?

Just for fun he let me test drive a 2003 cobra he had taken in on trade. What a guy!

It's unclear to me why this would be the case. Dealers make the least amount of money on A/Z plans, so if anything we might expect a lower priority. That said, it'd be nice if you were right, since my Redfire GT premium (ordered in May) is A plan pricing as well

doesnt make any difference to Ford a car is a car is a car........There is a difference between retail customer orders and dealer stock orders to some extent, but not much.

Dealers get paid back to 2% over invoice for A-plan sales by Ford. Although when they are easy to sell at full retail, technically any plan does not make as much money.

My dealer told me they will definetely honor A and X-Plans. They said they will not sell only at MSRP. They had done this in the past and lost customers and will sell the Mustang just as they do the rest of the Ford products. However, I am sure there will be no incentives.

I went to a Ford dealer one time and they wouldn't honer the A-plan on the Cobra. I seen the same car there 6 months later and the dealer said they would take A-plan now. I told them to stick it and never went back to that dealer again. Its nice to see some Dealers have learned from their mistakes. B)

It's a good idea to feel out the dealer before doing business with them. I think the dealers killed the new T-Bird by gouging the customer and Ford ought to do something about it. I know of a dealer back in the 90's that lost his license to sell Fords because he ticked off the wrong A-plan customers too many times. That dealer is now selling rice burners and is "out of town"

I stopped by the dealer today and the '05 I ordered under A-plan showed up on their order sheet. The six the dealer ordered several weeks earlier were not on the sheet. Mine showed up a unscheduled but theirs were not there at all.

So maybe it is true that the A or X plans get scheduled before the stock orders. Cool!

The only thing I have noticed different with all the orders I have seen, is the Priority number assigned to the "order confirmation sheet" at the top. Anybody here know what determines this number? Mine is a 25 but some others orders seen have been a 10. Lower the # the better I have heard. My dealer has been ordering them 3 at a time so maybe they are scheduled 3 at a time from each dealer when their time come up.
