I ordered my white V-6 mustang with the IUP on 10/9 and it came back as on hold and i called 2 weeks later (today) and the fleet mgr. said it was still on hold but said he hadnt been contacted by Ford to say they couldnt make the order!? Is by dealer b/s ing me or what should i do? You would think he would tell me if i couldnt get it with the IUP or at least tell me it will not be in till jan/feb. etc.? GRRRRRRRRRR :bang:

But if i couldnt get the IUP wouldnt the dealer know that? & wouldnt it have said that when i placed the order. I saw that the screen said ON HOLD and it was not that they wouldnt make it. So i dunno? Why can u still build and price the V-6 with the IUP on their site if it not available?

This site tends to know more than the dealers.

The IUP is on hold, not canceled. So I'm sure you can order to your hearts content, but until IUP supply catches up with demand, Ford it not putting IUPs on V6s.

I agree with Kevinb120. Most likely your dealer is being as helpful as they can be. After all, they are in business to sell cars. Most dealers are smart enough to know that repeat customers are a good thing, so they are going to do whatever they can in order to earn long term business. Perhaps the main problem is communication, or lack of same, from Ford Motor Company. I have a lot of personal experience in that area lately, as I ordered my Mustang GT on the very first day the company would accept orders. Do I have a car yet? No. Do I have any real plausible explanation as to why I don't have a car yet? Not really. There's a lot of conflicting information, but my dealer has been super at endeavoring to get answers. I think he is more frustrated than I am. You would think in this day of UPS and FEDEX tracking that something like an automobile could be dependably tracked. Lots of cars ordered after mine have been delivered. So, I am not upset with my dealer, I am upset with Ford. As one who has purchased lots of new Ford product, in particular in the past five years, and as a stockholder, I am apalled at the lack of communication and good service.
