I still can't believe they didnt do the GT350 over the CS for an appearance package. Could of done stripes, wood wheel and center console applique, white shift ball, restitched seat pleating, the lower facia from the CS, rolled exhaust tips, dark grey bullitts with spinners, ducktail, side louvers, 1" drop FRPP springs, a little exhaust/tune work for 10-20 hp and more aggresive rear axle ratio at $32k loaded.
Performance upgrades from the Shelby? cool.
Body parts from the Shelby? Pushing it, but okay.
Rebadging a car, not cool at all. You're lying to yourself about what you have, and trying to fool other people about what you have. It is generally harmless, but there are people that will then try to sell their 'Shelby' and Shelby prices to someone who might not know what to look for. And that's just being a low life. (I know, buyer beware and all, but still.) Same goes for putting GT, V8/5.0 badges on a V6, or especially what some of the ricers do badge wise. Sheesh. I didn't know the Honda Civic-looking car was actually a Skyline GTR...must have been 'lost in the translation' coming across the Pacific or something. :nono:

I would use parts from any car if I felt like it. I wouldn't rebadge though.
However, I won't be using any parts off the new Shelby, I just don't like it.
My car is a Boss 302 tribute, but I decided to keep my GT emblems, although I would like to find some Boss 281 emblems...

I would do little things like maybe the front end of the Shelby to make my car look different. the rear diffiusers would looks neat on a regular stang. I dont agree with people who go out and try to pawn off a fake. Its like the the Bullit an mach guys that use the cobra bumpers and such, they are just using the peices to make there cars look diferent.

Why would you want to make the car look like something it is not. Did you watch Barrett- Jackson this past weekend. The announcers were "trying" to describe a Elenor looking '67-'68 model. They could not find the words to describe it or why it was built to look like that.
Having bought and sold quite a few mustangs in my life, stripes are o.k., badges - NO. Recently tried to get an answer from a owner why he had Cobra Jet emblems on the front fenders below the 5.0 emblem. His response - " it looks cool."
Maybe to him, to me it devalued the car for what it was.
Reminds me of the rice rockets with the "R" emblem stuck on the back of them.
Just because they sell it at Autozone, Advanced or where ever. Does not mean it has to be stuck on the car.
This is just one old mans opinion.
