S197 Boosted Stangs!Lets hear your Blow-Offs!
Hey guys, for all of the S197 Owners running boost, what blow-off valve are you using, and do you like the sound? On my car, my blow-off valve is very very loud. Basically a sssshhhhh sound in between shifts. I am using a diaphragm blow-off valve. It works pretty good in preventing compressor surge as well as keeping the compressor spinning at full speed in between shifts. Basically, in between shifts I start off the next gear at full boost since the unit is working so good.
However, the sound is extremely loud in terms of air discharge in between shifts. I was thinking of moving to an HKS Super Sequential blow off valve, that does not use a diaphragm but a piston actuated type of plunger. The sound would also sound a bit different.

Mine sounds much louder than this one. But I do like how this one sounds..
I will make a video later of me going through the gears with the windows up, so you guys can hear just how loud the blow-offs are.
What type of blow-off valves are most of you using, and are you happy with the sound? Feel free to make video clips with the windows up, so we can hear your blow-offs! I should have mine up tomorrow.. Thanks!

LOL! Yeah the new Vortech Blower is very quiet. I actually like the loud ones better! They sound real nice at idle though. I'm off to work right now, but I will put together my clip and should have it posted tomorrow. I hope the guys who are available to make clips today, get them posted ASAP. I want to hear what everyones car sounds like driving through traffic!
