Question Replace Battery

Has anyone replaced their POS Ford Battery with an Optima Red top.

My car is in 6 month Winter storage and a Battery Cell has gone South,
Battery measures 9 volts.

Having trouble finding an Optima Red Top that is a replacement.
If you have a Model Number for a Red Top or have installed one , let me Know

Yep...

You need the 34R Red Top and make sure they sent a "DIN Adapter".

My company owns Optima.

Get Ford to give you a new one under the 3/36 warranty. They replaced ours already too. Motorcraft batteries seem to be hit and miss. The one in our GT was only a year old. I still have the two originals in my 2002 F-250 and the one in my 98 Cobra lasted 6 years. My wifes 2002 explorer bat lasted 3 years. One never knows.

I had my battery replaced last winter under warranty... I'll keep replacing it under warranty until I have to get an optima. The battery doesn't seem to like the cold

they replaced mine under warranty too...
they put in another Motorcraft, but with more CCA (at least that's what they told me...adding a "I don't understand why Ford doesn't put a stronger battery in the first place, especially for places like New England"), so far it works perfectly fine.

I got mine through my company.

Try calling Optima for ordering....They'll know what the DIN adapter is. It's just a mounting bracket.

This same battery is used in multiple cars, and there are different adapters for each.

I'm not impressed with Optima batteries other than that they are an AGM VRLA battery.

Get the current battery replaced under warranty or go with a Sears Die Hard Gold, BCI group size 40R or 96R depending on what you have.

One of my Sears DH Golds lasted 9 years before croaking (click click = no start). Another kept going before undercharging caused it to stay at 11.25V in the winter at rest (thanks to my Steeda underdrives) and the Optima red top I had also went south the same way because of the undercharging but neither battery was "dead". It started the engine perfectly fine when it was only -10F outside.
