I saw the fastback roofline and the familiar front end and I decided that I needed to get one...I was planning on getting a car in a couple of years but I decided I could not wait - situations change. I love my truck, but it is no Mustang, so it will be sold or traded in. Besides, I have no wife or kids yet so I better get what I want now before the decision between a minivan/SUV or somewhat impractical 300hp sports car is made for me.

I was not in the market for a new car at all.....and then my brother asked me if I had seen the new Mustang's. I started getting curious about that time, and started researching them, and the first time I sat in one in real life (V-6) I was hooked. Then I met this little beauty (Torch Red) and it was Love At First Sight.....

Wow! I am glad to find out that this car has sparked some thing within us!

I have had many new cars, but none of them had me smiling everytime I got behind the wheel, nor had me at the dealership quicker to buy it.

I wasn't in the new car market in any way, shape, or form until I saw the '05 unveiled. Immediately, my wife and I knew we had to have one. I will have to wait at least one more year, but without a doubt, I will have one. This is hands down, the greatest mustang that ford has built since the inception and I can't wait to own it. It reminds me so much of my '65 Fastback!

I was thrilled with this car the moment I saw the concept drawings two years ago. I knew then I'd be on board rapidly. I expected this car the way a catcher waits for his pitcher to throw, with GREAT anticipation.

Again, really great thread. I wasn't even considering a new car until I saw the '05. I have a 99 Jeep with 5,000 miles on it in the last 4 years due to the fact that I also have a new Camry as a company car.
I've always wanted an 'old muscle car.' I'm 28, I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard and the like. Always loved the cars, but to buy one is either a lot of work, or a lot of money (mostly both). So came the '05 Mustnag Flu, when I got the bug, I had to go buy the medicine. 300hp's should cure me.
Now if it will just make it here. My dealer says I won't get it until late Feb!

I've always wanted a 'stang and remember about 7 years ago I almost bought a used Cobra with the Mystachrome paint, until I saw that my insurance was going to be as much as my car payment. Years before I got my license my dad had a 5.0 and sadly he traded it in before I got my license, or that would've been my 1st car.

Recently I've been trying to decide if I want to sell my harley and get an 05 Big Dog Chopper, or trade the Xterra in for the new mustang. I've been teetering for a while now, with the Chopper getting right side drive and a bigger engine, then seeing all the people getting their new Stangs... Aggghh!

I also have to contend with the winter here in the northeast with no "beater" to drive in bad conditions. Although getting the 05 stang now is what I want, waiting(agghh!) might be my best bet. Pay the Xterra off and keep if for the bad conditions driving and get a SE or a Cobra in 06.... if I can wait that long.

Well, I guess I fall into the category of not buying one yet, but not b/c of lack of wanting to!! I gotta pay off my moms focus first, and hopefully some of my 150 too, but maybe this summer I can get myself a new Mustang to go along w/ the '84 GT350 anniversary ed., and the '66 coupe I'm resto-modding . I do understand you guys when you say the waiting is killing you, I've waited for years for Mustangs before(first one when i was 12)and now to be building them everyday, seeing them go by and out the door ,oh well, someday!! I had no intention whatsoever of buying a new car until I saw the '05 at a car show this past spring. It reminded me so much of my first car ('66 Stang) that I just had to have one.

I was not in the market to buy a new car, though I have a low miles '95 Honda Accord V6 that is in very good to execellent condition. I have been wanting an older style 67-69 Mustang ever since I sold My Shelby back in the 80's. I have learned alot about the '05 Mustang and am wanting to go the American route now! I just need to pull the trigger and buy the car....

I was hooked when I saw the concept on the front of a magazine in February 2003 (still have the mag). I've never owned anything except Stangs so I waited to trade for the new body style. This car does evoke a smile everytime you drive it.

i wasnt in the market for a new car either. i was content with my beater, thinking that i would drive it until it fell to the ground. but since i saw the new stang, i'm gonna say buh bye to the beater in 2 years once i get a teaching job and get myself a stang B)

and the fact that the V6 and the GT may get more power in two years solidifies my decision

B) Was not in the market.

Years ago we previously owned a 65, 68 & 71.

Wife and I loved those cars and said for years that if Ford ever brought back the 60/70s style with modern technology we would seroiusly consider buying one.

Ford did and we did.

One of the 1st to order the 05 in May, built in Sept, sat in rail yard with 3000-4000 other Pony's waiting for rail cars, delivered and paid cash in early Nov ..... and can't stop smiling

My mother inlaw wanted to purchase my 03 Taurus(which is a great car), so me and my wife went to look at the new Ford lineup, test drove the Ford 500, nice car just wasnt me, wife said lets drive a Mustang, I said I dont want a Mustang (remembering the fox platform) anyway I did it to please her, and ended up pleasing me. So I purchased a Black GT. Had to buy it. Great car nothing like any of the older ones.

For over a year I was going to buy a new T Bird, rented one twice for extended periods, but never committed. I am not sure I ever would have! Saw the new Mustang last May and I have one now and love it.
I am soooo glad I hesitated.

me? well. i dont have a car, or a license for that matter, but i've loved mustangs since i was, say, 12. and over time i've just started liking thiem more. and i REALLY love the 05. my rational side (aka conscience or otherwise referred to as "mom") syas i should do fine with our 93 mazda protege auto. im like no. ever since i was 12 its been ebay motors ofr me. im always hunting for a good deal, even tho i kno i cant afford even that. but im counting on Dad winnin the lottery soon so i can get my 05 GT....
