Mr. Sparkle Detailing - Long Island, NY - Paint Correction, Opti-Coat Pro & Xpel film

Just taking a moment to introduce myself.

I'm Bryan, owner / operator at Mr. Sparkle Detailing. Once upon a time I was a mild mannered insurance adjustor, with a passion for detailing cars. I developed a little side business, which grew so popular that I retired from the office and now follow my passion full time for a few years now.

The business has grown from operating in my pickup truck, to a 1000sq ft shop, to now a 2000 sq ft facility in West Babylon, NY.

Over the years I've worked on a number of Mustangs. I find I really enjoy working on these cars and I enjoy dealing with the enthusiasts who drive them.

I specialize in paint correction (machine polishing), Opti-Coat Pro and Xpel paint protection film. I'm an authorized installer of Optimum Pro Coatings as well as Xpel films.

Some photos of prior work

2013 Boss 302 (Gotta Have it Green) - Vehicle had the paint corrected and Opti-Coat Pro applied when it was new. These photos are from earlier this year (still looking new 2 years later). Client returned for a surface decontamination (clay bar) and interior housekeeping.

2004 Cobra (Competition Orange) - 1 step paint correction with sealant. Also a look at the old shop in these photos

2015 GT - New car prep including Xpel Ultimate paint protection film applied to partial hood, bumpers, headlights and some extras. Topped off with a polymer sealant on the paint.

Also a little video slideshow I put together showcasing work from earlier this year. Some Mustangs are of course included for good measure. The opening shots are a montage of the extreme makeover which took place when I moved into my current shop

Nice looking shots, I have never used a clay bar before, a freind of mine suggested it, anything I need to know? Is it something a newbie can do without messing up the paint, or should I take it to a pro?

With a clean car, new piece of clay (something mild), and adequate lube you'll probably be ok.

Problems usually arise when not working clean (car isn't clean, inadequate lube, old dirty clay bar, etc)

with that said, some soft paints can get marred from clay. Thats why I suggested something mild

for lube I use Optimum No Rinse diluted down appropriately and I find clay magic blue will take off quite a bit while typically not giving too many problems with micromarring
