What gets me are all the raised trucks who do not have their beams adjusted so their headlights are coming straight into the windshield or even over your car. But I don't see them being pulled over!

well yes it looks cool to have them on.. but its common courtesy not to use them in highly populated streets.. because it causes a distraction to other drivers..... use them on open roads
I live downtown (highly populated streets) and almost every car I see that are equiped with fog lights use them at night. So I guess nobody is courteous around here. Although I don't find it a distraction. Lights are a good thing. A safe thing. It would be one thing if these fogs were aftermarket mods people were adding that don't meet regulations. But these are factory fog lights. And as long as it's not illegal to drive with fogs on no matter the conditions than we have every right to use them.

it is fun, though if you have your "fog" lights on and someone flashes their brights at you. I return the favor, make sure they don't hit the ditch and drive on with the fogs on.

Well, I put in nokya hyper yellow light bulbs for the foglights/driving lights. They look awesome and definitely lots of yellow. I highly recommend them, as they will also not be confused for your brights, but they are bright. Good luck to keeping away from cop ticketers.

Having the right to do something doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do. Do you really think that it is more important to look good than for other drivers to be able to see? Your right to be stylish should not cause me physical pain. Stop and think about others.

Darryl, the general population does not have the eye sensitivity that you have. I am sure the 05s Fogs are much more acceptable than those purple/white lights that are on ALOT of imports as the main head lights. I would suggest getting some kind of eyewear to aleviate your eye strain at night. You can get coated glasses to wear just for driving. You cant make entire populations of people adjust thier lives because of your issue. If it blinds you to the point of not being able to see for more than a fraction of a second, then its defintely something you need to correct, as it is dangerous for you to be behind the wheel blinded.

I drive with my fogs on, it provides added visibility, I like the look of my car, and it was a habit I got into with my 99GT. If they are REAL fogs, then they are pointed at the ground, and as such would not be causing any issues for other drivers.

My husband lifted his truck, and tweaked the lights so they dont point directly ahead. It was a small lift, so it didnt require much. That IS something that people should think about. More so the companies that lift the trucks. Just make it part of the lift process.

My $.05

I don't wear my sunglasses at night. (Everybody sing) Sorry had to do it. I am talking about night time. Not during the day. When the low beams are combined with the fogs it almost gives the effect of high beams. Especially bad on a dark stretch of road, when the eyes have adjusted for the dark. I am not talking about in the city where the ambient light is high. My sensitivity is no more than a lot of fair skinned blue-eyed people. Being of the red head variety I am more fair skinned than most, but not abnormally so. My point is that it doesn't bother just me. I would not ask people to change their behavior just to suit me. Although now that I think about it, I would make a GREAT emperor of the world.

She was talking about at night. And dark stretches of road is where you need fog lights the most anyway, where it's dark and you need more light to illuminate the road.

Yah you need to worry more about HID, then these things bothering you. Sorry you have a eye issue, but people still pay for there cars, and want to use them the way they feel fit. If it is legal, which it is to drive with these on, then , not really too much you can do. Like the poster before stated. If its that bad for you to see and painful, then maybe you should see a doctor about it. Nothing against you or anything. But millions of drivers out there, so you can wish something would happen about it, but not much is going to change. More and more vehicles, are having more and more lights, and brighter lights put on, including the High Intensity Discharge Lights, that are on higher end vehicles. If something like that bothers you as much as you say, then maybe start a petition or something in your area to get the HID outlawed, get it on a ballot, etc. Good luck with your issue.

P.S> Oh yah if its that bad, then try to do your driving during the day, and let someone else drive at night. Dont want you crashing into anyone or hurting yourself if its that bad.

Interesting... I am a red-headed blue eyed fair skinned woman... never had an issue.. Cept with freckles.

Side note: my eyesight is actually pretty darn good... once its more than 2 ft from my face! LOL Night, or day, I have visual acuity of 20/10. They actually think its better, but thats the lowest it goes on the scale. My husband gets halos, and bouts of night blindness, so, I am ALWAYS navigator.

They are fog lights, not driving lights.

Wow, inflation is back! what used to be $.02 is now $.05

In all honesty, I get flashed more in my Honda Pilot and my Nissan Frontier for having brights on when they're not, than I do with all 4 lights going on the Mustang.

I did notice something interesting driving home from work one night while behind a delivery truck with a mirror-like finish on the back cargo door's.

The fogs brightness falls off drastically at about 50 ft, and take on the appearance of a much weaker light than the normal beams.

Dark stretches of road do not require fog lights. They need high beams which are then turned off when on-coming traffic appears. The fogs never seem to get turned off. Jessica, I didn't say all fair-skinned people. My dad doesn't have the same issue, but my grandfather did. In talking to others of the "freckled nation", it just seems more common. Of course I could be talking out of my hiney. And I think that some earlier posts were right when they said that aftermarket lights are much worse than factory, especially when put on jacked up trucks.

The fogs don't get turned off because it is not illegal to have them on. It is illegal do have your high beams on when there's oncoming traffic. Who are you to say what dark stretches of road require. I too am from the freckled nation and don't share the same eye problems as you. Bottom line though is it's your problem and you are the one that needs to take the precautions when driving at night.

I HATE it when people drive with their fogs on all the time. Some people, like me, are sensitive to light. When I get an eyeful of fog lights it can be painful and I can't see anything for a short time. Especially when the lights are up high and not pointed down like they should be. Fog lights are for FOG. Not to look cool. I know that most drivers think it is harmless and no big deal. And they are right, the car looks better with them on. Just remember that not everybody's eyes are the same. Now if I can just get everybody to make sure their headlights are aimed correctly...
Wooh, I have sensitive eyes and prefer low lighting at home, but fogs have never bothered me and I like too have them on and see them on others.

Now a misaligned head lamp is bother some.

fogs on the stang aren't NEARLY as bright as those studid HID "stadium" style lights that light up an entire block. Even worse on SUVs. SUV fogs are horrendous as well. I asked a friend if it bugged him when i was behind him and he said they arent bright at all compared to all the other light mods you see on the road.

All lights a GO at night. They look great and they light up the road really well. almost think the fogs are better then the headlights. also darrly might not liek this but i jsut put Nokya artic white fogs in and Artic white Xenon Headlamps. ill find out tonight how bright they are. if not brighter than stock bulbs they get sent back.
