Pulled over for "high beams"
When I had my '00 GT and '01 Cobra, I always had the parking lights on with the fogs on at dusk. I think it looks cool. And I think it looks even better on the new GTs. Looks more intimidating too. :headbang: . If (when) I get an '05+, I'll continue doing the same thing. But since here in Ohio we have to have a front plate and I won't do that, I'll probably get some unwanted attention.

One would think you guys who drive with the fog lights on never had a car before and want everyone who crosses your path to notice you. I bet they are disappointed and laugh once they see it is not a Ferrari you are driving.
Sounds like he was looking for an excuse to pull you over. Cool that he couldn't find anything to write you up about in the end.
(do you have a front plate, and is the radar detector legal in NH?)
It's exactly this type of thing that is convincing me to install the front plate, even though I don't want to. I don't want them to have any excuses to pull me over...
In fact, I'm surprised I haven't been pulled over for no front plate already - my wife works in the local high school and was talking to a cop on security about a week after we got the new Mustang, and the cop was telling her how he clocked a new yellow Mustang in town doing 42 in a 25 mph zone. Before he went any further with the story, she told him that we owned that new yellow Mustang, and he just laughed and warned her to tell me that the local authorities know the new Mustang is in town and will be keeping an eye on it. :notnice:
BTW, I was NOT going 42 in a 25 zone. It was Easter Sunday, and I had the wife and kids in the car going to the in-laws to show off the new car, when I saw the cop on the side of the road with his radar gun pointed right at me. I looked at the speedo and was going between 30 and 35.

I always drive with the parking lights and fog combo. Whenever I have the headlights on the fogs are on too. Why have them off? Increased visibility for me to see and be seen by others (not in the 'look at me' way) equals safety. On top of that it looks really cool too.
I've been flashed by a few cars that thought they were hi-beams but that's it. None of the police officers I've passed though ever thought they were hi-beams. I think as the car becomes more common folks will realize. Just like on the '90-'93 Integras; was flashed all the time because Acura made the driving lights too close to the headlights.

Man, that's hilarious... Dustin, you should've told the cop this: "C'mon now officer, if ya waned to check my car, you should've just said so!" LOL. I haven't had any problems with the cops about my fog lights... but this is NJ, I'm sure I'll run into hard-**** at some point who's looking to collect revenue for the State...

I also know that there are "driving lights" although I have no clue what that means. I just know a friend of mine got pulled over once for driving with his "driving lights" on. We thought they were fog lights. And if they are driving lights instead of fog lights why wouldn't you be able to drive with them on? So.....that stuff I don't know about.
I use them because I live in the country w/ tons of deer running across the street not to mention other animals and there are very few street lights. I also like the look of them and for the most part they say I'm a GT.
(except for those people that add them to their 6s of course)

Do any of you turn the fogs on when you are just have your park lights on, around dusk, it looks pretty cool.

Dustin, those are technically fog lights. Thai-Tang made a point in some article that the GT's extra lights meet some national association's standard on defining fog lights. He was quite proud in the article making that statement as most other vehicles don't qualify and must be called driving lights.
(wish I could find the article...wanna say it was Part 1 of Mustang Enthusiat's 2005 Ford Mustang Preview )

I use my fog lights with my driving lights at night. It improves visibility (a lot) and others can see me better. I have had another GT behind me with their fogs on and it was not too bright. I have never been "flashed" for having the fog lights on. (dfn: flashed - quickly turning on/off high beams to advise oncoming traffic that their high beams are on). Just thought I would define b/c some people (including me) love to be flashed, just not by other headlights!

I HATE it when people drive with their fogs on all the time. Some people, like me, are sensitive to light. When I get an eyeful of fog lights it can be painful and I can't see anything for a short time. Especially when the lights are up high and not pointed down like they should be. Fog lights are for FOG. Not to look cool. I know that most drivers think it is harmless and no big deal. And they are right, the car looks better with them on. Just remember that not everybody's eyes are the same. Now if I can just get everybody to make sure their headlights are aimed correctly...

I don't think that the fog lights should bother other drivers. I've compared the difference at night between only fogs and lights and fogs. With only the fog lights on, I can't see very far down the road compared to the regular lights. They seam to really light up the road for about 20-30 feet in front and definitely help on the sides of the road. Just my 2 cents

well yes it looks cool to have them on.. but its common courtesy not to use them in highly populated streets.. because it causes a distraction to other drivers..... use them on open roads
