A-plan orders ignored?
I ordered on A-plan on 11-19-04 and still no word. Wondering how many of you, if any, have ordered on the A-plan and did you receive your car?
I have heard a rumor that A-plan orders are being "ignored" due to high retail says. People who have ordered on A-plan may be SOL and being forced to wait longer, maybe into 2006 model. Any truth to this? This would have been my 7th ford purchased A-plan and you would think Ford would reward brand loyalty, HA HA HA, Total BS!!!!
Searched and located and then called/emailed other dealers that have GTs in inventory/on their lot and they wont sell them A-plan.
Thanks again, still waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.............

FORD doesn't care if they are sold A-Plan or MSRP, they get the same money either way. The only way you are being "ignored" is if your dealer put you at the back of the line. A-plan = less dealer profit than MSRP...
Ford won't ignore the order. They don't care if you are buying on a plan or not. Your dealer however can be a different story. If they feel they can sell them for more, they may be moving others ahead of you.
I ordered A-Plan and had my car in exactly 8 weeks.
Everyone needs to remember that the biggest issue is dealer allocation. There is a system that determines this.
There are 17 Ford regions throughout the country. The regions earn vehicle allocation based on their portion of national sales.
Within the regions, each dealer earns vehicle allocation based on previous years sales figures.
So the Detroit region which has huge sales numbers, will get more Mustangs allocated to them as compared to the Seattle Region (includes WA, OR, ID, and MT) which has a more rural population.
If a dealer in Nebraska sold 10 Mustangs last year, it will be harder for them to get new Mustangs compared to a dealer in Metro Detroit who sold 250 Mustangs.
It's a very complicated system and sometimes unfair to the customer.
Ford is basically trying to avoid the situation where a dealer in one market gets an overflow of vehicles and a dealer in another market has a shortage.
Everything usually works out good, except when a new model as hot as the 05 Mustang is released and there is instant demand all over the country.

I ordered on Aplan 11/23/04 with a priority 10 from the largest volume dealer in my Metro area; took delivery on 2/23/05---exactly 3 months (or 13 weeks and 1 day).
It's your dealer, not Ford. They make less money on Xplan than A/D/Z plans. Perhaps they think they can sell for over MSRP

It's your dealer....I ordered last week and am Z-plan with a priority of 10. While I am obviously still C/U they are delivering about 9 GT's a month, all plan.
Trust me on this because my old dealer stunk!
Old dealer=2 weeks no DORA (because they hadn't ordered it)
New dealer=less than 24hrs. to DORA.
To hear evil robot lady say C/U=priceless!

I live not far from you and I have only seen 3 GT's on the road around here.

But with the roads as bad as they are around here, I'm not surprised. My understanding is that Ford employees aren't allowed to get them with the company lease plan either (paid mileage, etc.) which is probably keeping exposure down as well.
One it warms up and they patch up the roads though, I'm sure there will be a lot more sightings.

I ordered from Gorno Ford in Woodhaven. Also my order was back in September and Delivery in November. So I got it in before the IUP fiasco.
And I might be one of the few that you see running around the Detroit area, I'm out on the road every day. Mainly around the Dearborn and Allen Park area.
