I would like to know if there are any physical differences in body style of the 2 mustangs, with the exception of wheels, the fog lights, and the rear bumper with the twin exhaust. For some reason the GT always looks beefier than the V6 and i cant figure out why.

Front bumper w/fogs, body colored sideskirts, rear bumper.
I think the front bumper gives the GT the better look, because of it's wider opening on the front bumper.

Look at the front of the cars below the bumper.

V6 smiles
GT frowns

changing body parts is among the easiest things you can do.
Mine looks mean as heck since it's black, and you couldn't tell, it's lighter colors that matter.

The rear bumper on the GT hides more of the undercarriage than does the V-6, because of the lower valance being a little longer in the tooth. This is one of the things I noticed right away before I bought my GT, and that was that the gas tank and a few more underside parts showed more on the V-6.

Th rear fascia can't hide the gas tank. It's not back there. You sit on the tank.
Where the gas tank is located the GT and V6 are the same other than the color.

GT bumpers can be obtained in your color of choice from Cascotech

http://crashparts.cascocompany.net/

Pricing is really reasonable and he will ship. I have purchased several items from him and I am very satisfied!!

Here is a couple pics of my car...

I think of it this way... One of the coolest mustangs in history "smiled". It was boss then... it's boss now.

Both cars look great. Nothing wrong with either... just different.

Yeah, it might smile, but to me the V6 (and probably the GT too.) has those "bad boy" eyes!! I didn't notice it in the pics, but when I saw a V6 "in person" for the first time, I noticed that the headlights looked like bad boy eyes!! I'm a sucker for a bad boy! Always have been.

Ok, well whatever it is I am seeing from the back end, the fact of the matter is that you see more of it with the V-6 than you do with the GT.

From: Wisconsin
Wife and I noticed this during our eastern Wisconsin Mustang trek. It is especially noticable on light colored cars.

Major differences:
Front bumber on V-6 is cleaner and is more traditional looking. GT has a deeper air dam and looks more modern.

Satin black rocker skirts on the V-6 and body color on GT. On a light car, this makes the GT look bulkier than a V-6. If I was getting a light colored GT, I would swap the black skirts in for the painted ones. Interestingly enough, Ford did the same thing on the GT-500 show car for the same reason.

Rear bumper cover is also 2 inches deeper than the V-6. I would think it causes more drag. Again, this is different on the GT-500 prototype and painted satin black as well.
