THUMP HARDER ??? Man what do you want? Maybe you need to clean your ears. LOL You can stand on the outside now and see the door skins move. I like my 500. and love the 6 CD changer.

 

Can you still hook up an aftermarket headunit with the shaker1000?

 

I would guess that the Shaker 1000 is quite an improvement over the 500, but $1,200 is a lot of cheddar to blow on a "stock" system. Just to give you some kind of comparison, for less than $2k that I spent on my boat stereo system (and save the "this is not a boat forum" blasts, please), I bought all brand new components over the web, and got three Kicker amps (1 800 watt, 1 600 watt, and 1 400 watt), plus a 12 inch Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" sub, plus 6 Infinity Kappa 2-way speakers. That price included professional installation, and a second battery to run the whole thing, using the stock deck that came with the boat.

Just to give you some idea of what that sounds like...I can hear it clearly when I'm wakeboarding 65 feet behind the boat in an open-air environment.

The point being, you can do a lot of stuff in your car for $1,200...

 

I'm glad u love the 6 CD changer, most of us do. My stock system in my Camaro could make the door skins move to, but over all the 500 isn't to bad. I was just expecting more out of 500 watts B)
