Red face Parking Brake cable(s) replacement

So I went through the frozen parking break escapade this winter. Got no assistance from FORD (i.e. Dealership) since it occured 136 miles past my 3/36,000 warranty. I bought new rear rotors (Left rear had been somewhat seized since the previous owner had it, causing premature wear) from NewTakeOff.com, and got all 3 cables from parts.com. I'm now up to roughly $250 in parts for what my dealership wanted over $800 to replace (I still need to buy pads, and a rear caliper tool for compressing the pistons). I printed out all the repair manual sections regarding replacing and adjusting the cables and handle, but they are somewhat vague as far as routing the cables, and how they are actually attached to the underside of the vehicle once you feed the front cable through the floor and re-attach the new handle. Has anyone done this, or does anyone know of a more detailed "how-to" with pics that has been posted somewhere before I attempt this fiasco at my brother's shop?

TIA

you can rent the tool for free at autozone I think most parts stores will rent the tool to you. I had the ebrake fix done under warranty and they still freeze up in the winter. I just don't use it in the winter anymore

Hmmm... they should be secured with clamps of some sort along the body until the pass through the rear control arms. After installing LCAs on my car, I got the impression that the cable housing just floats between the parking brake handle and the rear brakes. In there rear I was able to pull the retaining clips and disconnect the cables completely by hand.

I replaced my PB cables about a month ago. It took about two hours. Loosen the parking brake from inside the console first. The cables are easily routed. The attachment at the caliper is with a simple clip. Once you are under the car, you will see how easy it is.

May not be exactly what you're looking for, but links below will show different parts of the e-brake cable, rear rotor, and how it gets attached.
