check at your dealer. It might be too late but you never know. Depends on your dealers allocation and the priority they put on it at your dealer(meaning depends if anyone else has a order ahead of you). There are a lot of V6s on dealer lots look for one there.

Good luck in your search

No, it is not to late to order a V6. May allocation should be the last of the 05s.

Absolutely, I ordered exactly what I wanted, and I'm waiting for it just like everyone else is. He has every right to order whatever he likes.

I checked on my GT order just over a week ago and was talking about allocation with the order manager. He had plenty of allocations for V6's and no waiting list. I think you have a pretty good chance if you go with a high allocation dealer. I was still on the fence with mine, number 7 in line. Still hopeful but not expecting good news.

Ordering a V6 at this point should still be viable and will have no impact on GT production. Ford planned and aquired parts to build only a certain number of GTs; that is why there is a backlog and some folks are at risk of being pushed to '06. Absolutely stupid situation, but there it is. :bang:

I would think your V6 is on a lot somewhere and that whatever dealer you settle on should be able to obtain it for you faster than placing an order. Best of luck!

I know of two dealers in NJ that have at least 10 V6's on the lot.
The Ford site search isn't very good for national searches. See if your dealer will do it.

Um, total number of V6 vs. GT orders have absolutely nothing to do with how many of each type are made. It's something called commodities. They only manufacture so many V8 engines that can be allocated to the Mustang in addition to the other parts needed for the GT that tne V6 does not require. The other major component is that Historically the V6 model is roughly 75% of all Mustang sales.

So, in regards to the original question. You can probably still get an 05 V6 Mustang but you need to order right quick and find a dealership that doesn't have any pending V6 orders and has good allocation. If you can find this you should get an 05. I went to a dealership that gets roughly 3 Mustangs per cycle (1 GT, 1 V6) and had about 6 orders infront of mine (V6 or GT I have no idea). It took about 1.5 months for my car to get a build date. If you ordered today you be right at the end of the production cycle (change over is in August/July from what I've read)

Nate,
Looks like your Dad and you will have to fly down to Birmingham and drive a new Stang back. They have lots of what you are looking for in southern states. Example:http://www.jskinnerford.com/pages/pr...FT80N855174496
