So I ordered yesterday X-Plan GT Premium all the good stuff except upgrade wheels and shaker 1000, and auto tranny . The dealer put me in at priority 15(which I thought was ok since I am in no huge rush) But I got an email back saying it may even be the 2006???? :bang: :bang: :bang: Cause there have been so many orders here and in NJ in general I asked him what they look like on quotas for their dealership, he hasnt responded yet(that was this morning). It is Malouf ford one of the largest in the area. Does anyone know how true this maybe? He told me a 2-3 month waiting time(which i thought wasn’t great but reasonable and honest) but the snuck in the 2006 comment? Should I get my totally refundable deposit back and go to a different dealer? Or try to get more info about their quotas?

thanks guys and 16 hours into the wait and I am already antsy.

I have a feeling that soon all dealerships will be feeling the crunch. Ford is so far backordered that there might not be a good answer to your delima. It stinks but there might not be a way around it. I have a feeling it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

I was told by the Fleet Manager at a dealership out here in the Northwest that roughly 25% of all remaining GT orders will be produced. They are trying to push the Vert from what I've understood. A few other folks on here have been told something similar.

At this point in the game if I was getting a GT I'd just wait for the 06 year but hopefully for folks still ordering the GT for 05 you get it.

I have yet to revceive a VIN. I believe your order has to be serialized first. I will probably take a few weeks.

The first few digits are know because of the options and such. The serial portion is not know so you only get a partial VIN from what I understand.

I guess I'd say not. They wouldn't warn you if it wasn't a distinct possibility. At least they are being honest about it.

I heard something similar today from a local dealer. He said that only 20% or so of the production is GT's. He basically said forget about a 05.

I am very glad they are honest but hearing 2-3 months and then the 2006 bomb being dropped on me made me cringe a little

No. It's not. You get a partial VIN as soon as the order is accepted by Ford. The dealer gets the DORA one to two days after they put your order in and that has your partial VIN on it. ( Dealer Order Receipt Ackowledgement)
