Ordered 2007 GT "California Special"

Howdy,

Ordered a 2007 GT California Special on 5/15/06. As of today, not scheduled for production. It will be black exterior, black leather interior w/dove seating inserts. 5sp, 3.55, IUP w/gray panel, California Special pkg w/18" polished bullets, chrome exhaust tips, wheel locks, active anti-theft. Dealer ordered at x-plan. I currently have a 2005 GT, Sonic blue
5sp, IUP, 17" polished rims. Just a fantastic ride!! Ordered new 2007 from the same dealer.
Thanks,
Dave

Hello, I received today, a copy of my dealer dora for my GT/CS. Dora shows order date of 5/15/06, DORA processed 5/31/06. The X-Plan price w/$745.00 destination still came in at $28,376.92. A great price for such a fully equipped GT!! I give Ford alot of credit for keeping 2007 GT premium base price increase under $150.00

Has anyone else considered the "California Special" pkg? With an X-plan price of $1,649.00, I think this pkg is a good value...since 18" polished bullitts are a $825.00 retail option itself.

Good luck and happy waiting for others who recently ordered their 2007 GT's.

Did you order the Coupe or Convertible? For 28k surely sounds good.

Congratulations, hope it comes soon. Two questions for you, does the DORA list all of your options and pricing? And did you have any problems getting your dealer to give it to you?

Am currently in process of placing order for 07 GT/CS Convertable with Landers Ford in Little Rock. Purchased two GT's in 05 on A plan for myself and my son. Am going to attempt to purchase a convertable on X-Plan. Will be putting a CDC Shaker on the hood though, don't like the CS hood at all.

Just my thoughts.

Thank You for the replies!! I ordered the coupe vs the convertible. Both will be very sharp with the GT/CS pkg. I do prefer the fastback roofline on the coupe.

The sales mgr at the dealer I ordered from gave me the X-plan printout both times when I ordered my 2005 GT and this 2007 GT/CS without me asking for it. This print-out breaks-out all options by code, then show retail and X-plan costs for each side by side.

Regarding the GT/CS pkg, has anyone heard there will be a limited production? My dealer could not confirm, but I read somewhere Ford has contracted with GT/CS suppliers to limit production to 8,700 units. If so, this could be a more limited production pkg then the Shelby GT500.

Also, with the GT/CS larger front "fresh air" intakes, then the std GT, could this mean net HP may rise above the adverstised 300 HP?

Thanks,
Dave

The C/S comes with a regular Mustang hood just like on the GT and V6. If you're talking about the scoop, that comes with the GT Appearance Package. Some early photos of the C/S showed it with a hood scoop, but it doesn't come with the C/S package.

No, it's just the fascia that they are referring to. When they say "fresh air intake", all they really mean is there is more cooling area going over the radiator. It won't have any impact on HP.

PS, congrats on the orders guys! I've got an '07 GT vert on order myself, I love my '05 V6 vert but couldn't resist ordering an '07 when I saw some of the new option packages
