I had a 99 Monte Carlo Z34 before the Mustang..had 225/60 16s on it... so who knows what the future may hold for 60s...

Along with Cragar and American Racing, Fenton made wheels back in the 60s. I had a set of 2 piece Chromed steel rim and magnesium center 5 spokes from Mickey Thompson on a 56 Chevy back in 69. There were others too I dont recall names right now.. I know Center Lines had wheels in the 70s, perhaps back into the 60s, just never cared for them. For me Its all about 5 spoke wheels.

18" bullits on the rear may be a posibbility down the line, esp with Ford having them on 06s, rhough I have heard they arent zactly like the 05 Bullits. Also have considered doing a lowering on the back only... saw somewhere you can get just the back springs. That may detract form the back wheels and rims looking shorter than fronts even with the stock tires.

Another thing I miss is deep set wheels. All todays cars have the front and rear axle assembly closer to the outer edge of the bodies.. Can oyu say Wide Track?

In any case its all good.

I agree... 18s with 255/45 look perfect IMO. Still more than enough sidewall.

NO I do like the stock wheels and tires. I esp like the bullets because of the similarity to old Cragers or old Torque thrust. The 55s look pretty good on the GT. It mainly when you go to a lower profile it just doesnt lok quite right. I wouldnt go to 16s because I love my polished 17' bullits. I would like a wider tire on the rear, just dont want it to look shorter than the fronts.
I would recomend a 255/50/17. (27.0" overall diameter) They will fit on the stock bullitt's and have the same sidewall height as the stock 235/55/17's. (27.2" overall diameter You can even run them front and back if you want. A lot of guys are using that size.

Of course you can go even wider in the back and still keep the same sidewall height, but you'd have to go with a wider wheel. 285/45/17 will give you you the wider tire and still keep the same sidewall height. This is the next size up that comes the closest to the stock tire diameter. It's 27.1".

And oh by the way, a 285 wide tire WILL fit in the back.

Good Stuff And the Nitto NT450's are nice tires, I think they handle perfectly for my uses!
