Still getting a lot of attention
Just left TGIFridays for a late night snack and some drinks with some friends, I come out to my car parked right up front as usual so I can keep an eye on it, and there is a group of young guys (at oldest early 20s) standing around my car and two of them have their camera phones out and are taking pics, I walk up and one guy says "This car is sick!" I say thanks, cool thing was that I was parked next to my friends Vette.
I find the same thing.
The funny thing I find is sometimes I'll run into someone who hasn't seen one up close and doesn't know that its a mustang. They say "Thats a mustang huh, I've seen these cars around and didn't know what they were."
I think this car will not get boring. I have to admit my age, I had some kid tell me that my car was sick. I thought he was being a jerk. I told my family what someone had sad and my daughter informed me that he gave me a compliment.

Honey, glad you are part of this club. I know just what you mean. On our road trip last week in the mountains, we saw one 05Vert red fire, we have 05Gt Vert red fire. We were shocked and happy to see him. We waved as we past. He was going north, we were going south. While we stopped to look on the overlooks we had two guys on Harleys. They stopped and talked about the car for about 45 mins. At first they just said, "Wow, Nice care. Mustang right? What year?" We talked about how long we had to wait for her, And how fast she is. The gys were really cool. They went over every inch of the car. Took a few pictures and went on their way. We have had her since March and we still get looks, comments and on lookers. We will never get tired of that. So enjoy it, take it all in and be happy, wear the

Don't you just love it when someone drools over your mustang and ignores the vette sitting next to it.
My torch red 05 GT was stuck in traffic on the interstate behind a new red vette, and for almost 20 minutes cars were passing us in the left lane telling me how much they liked the Mustang while completely ignoring the guy in his freshly Zaino'ed vette.
When I finnally pulled out and went around him he shot me the look that said it all
You know he has to be kicking himself for paying all that money for a car that goes unnoticed.

I would have to agree that the car hasn't lost its luster yet. I think that it won't until they become more common than a Vegas call girl.
I still get compliments which have ranged from "nice car what year is that? Really? I thought it was an older car" to "Man, sho car looks really good wit dose wheels man" from a Tony Montana clone.

Last time I had my car out some guy driving in the opposite direction in a new BMW Z4 (still had temp tag) practically broke his neck when we passed each other. Then as I made a left turn through an intersection the woman in the car on my left waiting at the light just stared as I drove past and I even heard her moan.
I went with my girlfriend recently to a restaurant here in LA called " In at the Seventh Ray". It’s a cool place nestled in Topanga Canyon. There are allot of new age folks around, not a place where you would necessarily find a Mustang enthusiast.
Well my girlfriend and I had finished our meal; we went out to the car for a nice drive down the coast.
Someone had placed flowers on the hood of the Stang; they made it look like some new age shrine!
At first I was a little tweaked but my Girlfriend said "It look like someone really loves your car!"
I drove away with a big smile on my face.

You know he has to be kicking himself for paying all that money for a car that goes unnoticed.and for $7K you can add an a/c upping HP to 460+-------and smoke him for 10K less----however, i find not many vette owners are up to use that power on the street --alot of 45+ driving them w/not alot of penchant for competition---
I feel like king of the road in my neighborhood, being one of a handful of '05s rolling around. Just yesterday I had some cops pull up next to me and tell me I had the best looking Mustang they had seen around, and how it resembled the '68s. I said, "yeah, that's the look I was going for!"
I also had some blonde lady pull up next with a huge smile on her face, making no attempt whatsoever at concealing her amazement with my car. Gotta tell you, it feels good! =)
This happens every time I take her out. I gotta tell you, I'm not really looking forward to the 06s coming out. lol.

Then he raced me and kicked my butt.
Well, I certainly go into the looking category. I see one every day on my way to work and never get tired of seeing it. I always wave to the 05 drivers. I like to see them smile and be proud of their car. I just hope it happens to me when I get my 06.
I had a similar stuck in traffic moment shortly after getting the car, I posted about it back then, but heres a refresher, it was a DB9 and the guy was trying to act hard, vert pulled up to my left full of girls checking out my car, said how they liked it and they didnt even notice the DB9, even after I made a comment about it, they responded with something like "oh yeah thats nice too"
and I raced her in the vette, will post a new thread on that soon.....I was too tired last night and didnt feel like making a second post.

I know how you guys feel. But I am so crazy about these cars that if I don't see one on the way to work I feel like It is going to be a terrible day. But if I see one just one, my day is made. Just think about when I see 3, 4 and up to 7. Seven is the most I have seen. That was a great day.
Definitely still gets a ton of attention. It's amazing to me that it gets more attention than cars that cost 2 or 3 times the price.
Any time I'm someplace with valet, they always park it in a prime (high visibility) spot as well.
The only thing that still bothers me a bit is that I often have hand prints on the windows when I come back to the car (people trying to peer inside through the tinted windows). I actually keep glass cleaner in the trunk now so I can wipe them off (yes, a bit **** I know).

You feel like a movie star with all the attention you get. I often think when we come out of a store or restaurant and people are standing around the car checking out every inch, looking in windows. That they see me and will ask for an autograph or picture of this car.

My g/f and I went to a fireworks display a couple weeks ago. Parking spots were at a premium and I refused to park close to anyone (unless it's parallel). I found a spot that would have put my slightly in somebody's yard. He was outside so I got out to ask him it that would be ok. He took a look at the car and said "with a nice car like that, you better pull it all the way into the yard." I ended up in the middle of his yard.
Now that's cool!!!!
We got our car in March and our dughter got married in May. We shined the Gt Vert and took it to the church with the top down. After the wedding we were asked by my daughter and her new hubby if they could ride to the reception in the car. We had this great idea, let's let them sit in the back of the back seats on the boot. We were only five mints. from the reception. They and all the guests loved it. Thay took loads of pictures. When we get our pictures from the photographer we will post.
