If your car had been ordered when the dealer first told you, you would have definitely had a build date and VIN by now. The dealer is not being square with you and it's a shame. I would suggest taking your business to another dealer. If there is a Better Business Bureau in your town, I would suggest writing a polite but firm complaint letter about the dealership. In addition, I would get the name and address of the regional Ford rep and write to that person. It may do you no good personally, but Ford does like to know and the company is really trying hard to make its "turnaround" work at every level.........and what is more important than having happy, satisfied customers?

I ordered my car the last week of May (sonic GT--fully loaded). I recieved a dora in two days, my VIN in about three weeks. The car is built, ready to be delivered to the dealership. I think tht if anyone ordered in May or June and have not recieved their VIN, something is up with the dealership. I would cut my losses, get my deposit back, and move on to another dealership.

I would recommend a call to Elliott Spitzer's office. You had a legal contract bound by the deposit. They may of committed fraud. The New York State Attorney General will follow up on this situation. You can make this claim even if you go elsewhere. Who knows maybe your original ordered car they were going to sell to someone else might just be there waiting for you. At the very least it will ruin there day and prevent this business practice from repeating itself.

Thanks for everyone's advice. Luckly the guy who got me the x-plan just so happens to coming into town this weekend from Florida. He used to be an executive for about 20 years in the Mahwah plant before it closed. He is going to see if he can help me out. Hopefully he can get this whole thing straitened out. If not I am definatly going to pull my order and start over somewhere else. Also, I will do whatever I can to make sure they don't do this to anyone else!

I do feel bad for you guys with jerkoff dealers, but they just don't care. If you decide not to buy the Mustang you ordered, or pull your deposit, its no skin off their back because they know they will sell it to someone else walking in off the street. This is going to be a hot car for a while. The laws of supply and demand are at work again.

As far as this whole order scenerio, you need to go after them. Skip up the perverbial food chain some and go to the district rep for sure. I work for a worldwide company and see customers do it all the time. If you want the wip to crack I would certainly take upp your issue within the company, with a possible threat to report them to the BBB or some local news station "trouble shooter".

Trust me, a guy did this to us last week and sit started a fire under everyone's keisters.

Everytime I buy a car I feel like I have to get dressed im Camo gear and lock and Load. Even with the x-plan for some reason the guy wanted to haggle with me. I have never had a positive car buying experience. Not once.

Buying my Jetta was a pretty good experience. Driving it and getting it "fixed" is the problem.

Trust me that should and will care. Its not a good practice to screw over customers. The area I live in is not a big county and word travels quick (which is not always a good thing haha). But in this case what they should understand is that having delt with them and what they did to me they should know that anyone I know who goes to buy a Ford will get my two cents thrown in to not go to this dealership and over time that can add up. Its amazing how quickly things go through the grapevine.

I got screwed too on my x-plan. I wrote the owner a letter explaining exatly what happened. They will still not let me have my car at x-plan but at least I should now get my deposit back.

Well, don't bother with the Ford Customer Relationship Center. As you can see from my thread on this subject, they don't get involved with money issues. All I got was a lecture.

I can't find the regional managers at Blue Oval. Can anyone help?

Orange county. Go see my friends paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Vinney, mikey and Cody. Visited with them down in your neck of the woods last month. Paul Sr just got a 300C. Have the boys go over and shake up the dealer!

I would have thought giving them a grand and getting signed paperwork from them would imply some sort of contract. I'd be thinking lawyer first and local TV trouble shooter second, but what do I know? I teach college students about movies for a living.
