It was originally supposed to be Will Arnett but they changed it to Val Kilmer.

I don't mind Val Kilmer but the cinematography of the whole show was weird--it looked like a teen sitcom set the whole time. Also yes for the most part the acting was pretty bad.

The KR did look EXCELLENT, though. The "Transformed" version was superbly ugly, though.

Personally, there's a strange coincidence. Back in the early '80s when the show originally aired, I was into third gens (Camaros). Although I wasn't a big Firebird fan, I did watch the show. Towards the end of the series, it got kind of corny with "super pursuit mode" and the big circulate white pushbutton with a "C" on it. Remember that? Hasselhoff only used it a couple of times at the end of the episodes. In any case, I'm now into these new "old" Mustangs and the new Knight Rider comes out with it.... how coincidental.

FYI, there's an inaccuracy at the beginning of the show. They show a TPI. The show originally used an '82 TA and the TPI was first used in the '84 Corvette, followed by the '85 IROC-Z and '85 T/A. I kind of figured they'd do this because all that was available in '82 was the base carbed 305 and the optional 305 Cross-Fire Injection motors, which turned out to be a tuner's nightmare.....

I still own a third gen Camaro too.....

Nope. I enjoyed it. Nice to sit and relax to a show you can just watch and follow along with. No energy spent guessing the bad guys next move, no 'reality' twist, just kind of a throwback relaxing show w/ a cool car. The Dukes of Hazzard nor the original Knight Rider had tremendous plots, but they were entertaining and enjoyable.

Willie the Tuned Port Injection motor came out in the 85 Vette, the 84 was the first of the new body style if I remember right and it had the Crossfire motor that one year, then switched to the Tuned Port 5.7 in 85.

I had an 85 IROC-Z as well - fun car.

Jay, I stand corrected. The '84 Vette also used the Cross-Fire Injection... I know my third gen Camaros but don't really know Corvettes. You'll find me moderating the History/Restoration & Convertible forums at thirdgen.org.....

I'm a Knight Rider fan way back of the original. The "movie/show" tonight itself sucked. The acting was bad, the cinematography was bad as someone here mentioned, it seems liked a good 20 minutes of the show your just watching KITT drive on the desert road to Vegas then from Vegas, etc. Acting wise, I love how the girl finds out her dad was killed and she showed little emotion then literally got over it in no time. Same thing when Mike Traceurs' mom was killed, his only reaction was a bitter angry face, there just seemed like there was no emotional connection at all. If I had a chance to kill the guy that killed my mother I wouldn't just grunt stomp away.

Val Kilmer being the voice was OK, but really boring. I know KITT is an AI but I remember being more entertained by the 80's KITT than this one. I was hoping that they would hit the mute button half the time.

Now for the stang, definitely looked cool in standard mode, I like the CGI which I knew was going to be the meat of the show. The attack mode would've been impressive as well if it weren't for that ridiculous bleacher of a spoiler that was attached to it. Aside from it being called attack mode, the only advantage I noticed about it was that it was able to go super fast it seemed. I thought "attack mode" would've meant the car attacked . I was expecting to see some machine guns, rockets, oil slicks or some smoke screen ala the game Spy Hunter, but there was nothing which was disappointing, not even jump like the trans am did.

The ending seems like it may have left it open for a series perhaps. Maybe they did that on purpose depending on how the ratings and reviews go for the show? If it does turn out to be a series, I hope they get some good ideas and some good action from both the new Mike and KITT. Otherwise it'll be like NBC's attempt to resurrect another old show, Biotic Woman which failed horribly.

I liked it. IMO, it was as good as the original. I liked the fact it was a continuation with the Hoff and original KITT (at least parts of it) in the show. I did not care for some of the adult content. It was not needed and the show could/should have been a bit more kid friendly.

I agree Tispco. I found the beginning scene with the FBI agent and that women inappropriate for the show as well as Mike in the bed with not only one girl but two. Don't get me wrong I don't mind adult content when appropriate, but I don't see how this fit in the characters development whatsoever.

What about all the politics that GE/NBC always manage to include in stories. Car gets 126 mpg because of mostly solar power and runs on some gasoline, must hve batteries for the solar storage, so its a Ford Prius with a whipple blower on it? And the BlackRiver as the bad guys, WOW really similar to BlackWater. To NBC Blackwater equals private contractors working and killing innocents in Iraq. I'm surprised Haliburton or the Vice President played by someone remarkably similar to **** Cheney was not the ultimate bad guy, but then again we might be treated to that in later shows. I'm surprised they didn't have Greenpeace or Sierra Club as the head of the "good guy" foundation.

I'm sorry but as I said before I agree that adult content was useless and inappropriate. TV programing sucks hard right now. '80's Knight Rider was cheesy, but I was like 10 and there was nothing lewd or uncomfortable about watching it, why the hell does the FBI agent have to be a lesbian? She can be one, but why make a point of showing it. The writers of this show suck, the actors really suck, and there is no hope for this. Ford looks bad in my opinion putting their names and their cars all over this thing, the GT 500 KR is badass, and they don't need some crappy TV show to make that point. It brings an $80k monster down to the level of an '82 Trans Am. What's next Smokey and the Bandit redone with a Super Snake? That would actually be better, as long as it wasn't a TV show.

'Cause they're trying to hit all the 18 year-old demographic touchstones. Menage-a-'trois; implied lesbian babe action (at the beginning); hot cars; trendy aesthetics. But it's totally devoid of any real innovative style or substance...and the plot holes and shallow beats are pretty much exactly what I expected.

And what are the odds that almost every vehicle in the show would be a Ford. It's basically one big, two-hour commercial for Ford.

And Black River private security firm; in other words, a Black Water clone. Bit too on the nose...not much real creativity; all by the numbers.

I'll guess that Ford may get a few more Mustang sales out of this pilot - which isn't a bad thing - otherwise, here's hoping this dreadful POS remake goes the way of NBC's other recent remake abortion, Bi-yawn-ic Woman...

Stang looked good though.

I actually agree with all your other points except the obvious contradiction in the ones above.

So the show's "adult content" is inappropriate, but ***** Cheney's actions over the past eight years somehow is...?

The show's adult content was hardly very adult, but it was definitely supposed to be titillating for its own sake; a marketing ploy to young adult males which was more tangential to the plot than truly offensive.
