I start my car, and turn my radio on. No sound, nothing. I turn the volume up, change between radio and CD. I have the plain CD player, no shaker. The radio works but no sound comes from it. Im afraid to take it to ford because all my speakers are aftermarket and I have a subwoofer hooked up to it. I dont believe that any of that is the cause. After I turned the car off, I went back to it later and turned it on and all the sound works again. What would cause no sound to come from the radio? Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks

My shaker 1000, had a similar problem. Driving down the road, the system had no sound, could not switch between CD & radio, could not turn it off. After driving 3 miles it retuned to normal operation. This happened only once. I still need to take my car in to get the the shaker updated to a model B for other known issues.

The ground side could have a swinging open due to a false contact or connection.

I have the Shaker B and mine has done that before as well. It was working fine, then went off, no sound coming from any of the speakers. But when I turned it up, I could hear only the subwoofers working. I switched from the radio to CD, still nothing. Turned it off for a few minutes and then turned it back on, and it worked fine. When the car was in for the last service, I had them check it out and of course they didn't find anything wrong with it. Very odd this Shaker system is.

i've had the same problem, it was as if my shaker was moving in slow motion , when i turned the volume up to see about the no sound problem, it took it a second or two to think about what to do and then the volume turned up but still no sound.

This is an ongoing problem with the Shaker. Ford replaced mine with an updated Shaker system at no cost. There is a bulletin by Ford on this matter and the dealers are aware of it.

There is more information elsewhere in the forum on this.

I have had a similar problem as well. One time.
Mine was a little different in that I had sound, but couldn't do anything with the unit. The volume control went up when I turned it down and down when I turned it up. Turned the car off and then back on, all has been normal ever since.

I have a 2013 mustang, when I got the car it had a Tesla Style radio in it. I took it out, bout a stock radio out of a 2011 mustang, which I was told they were compatible from a 2010-2014 and it should work, everything works but I have no sound?

Could be a harness issue or the radio itself. Was it tested before buying it?
