Mobile-Ease Problem

We just installed the Ford Mobile-Ease system in our 2006 V6 with the 500 watt stereo. Everything works great EXCEPT when the radio is off. When a call is received with the radio off, the caller can hear you, but the radio doesn't turn-on so that you can hear the caller. Furthermore, the radio locks-up, so that you can't turn the radio on with the power/volume switch. If you press the <revert to cell phone> button (called privacy mode) then the radio is released from the system, and you can then turn the radio on manually.
We never received installation instructions, but I believe we are installed correctly. We double-checked that we have the correct installation harness, etc. and all seems correct. I am thinking we have a faulty system, and are trying to contact Ford through the parts counter at my local dealership. While I hope to hear words of wisdom back from Ford, I'm not holding my breath.
Does anyone know what might cause this problem?

I just had a replacement Mobile-Ease brain installed in the 2006 Mustang with a Shaker 500 radio. The problem persists, such that if the radio is off, incoming or outgoing mobile calls will not turn-on the amplifier, so you cannot hear the other person. We replace the wiring harness too, and that didn't fix it either. Has anyone had any experience with this system? Furthermore, we tried for seven weeks to get the Engineers at Ford to write back, but they didn't. If someone knows how to proceed from here, please advise. Thanks.
