Cool thanks, just took mine off tonight. Now about the blob of silicone.........do I need to replace it with another blob before I reinstall the covers or just remove the excess and put the gasket in the cover and put it back on without any silicone???????

You can do either. The silicone was place there by the factory so stuff didn't shift around while installing, not for sealing purposes. I just cleaned whatever excess there was and re-installed. Didn't use any silicone. Did it in Nov and no problems to date.

I put a dab of silicone in the spot that they had it. I did trim the old off. I put it on because that is where a kind of seam is or a lip if you will. Make sure you use a torque wrench, it would be easy to over torque the bolts.

So far no leaks and runs fine.

Are these cam covers painted or powder coated and then painted emblems? Are you doing any more of these?

are the FRPP the only aftermarket covers for the new 4.6 so far? just wondering cause i was looking for some just to see all my optionsa before i buy. I'm planning on the Chrome covers from FRPP and having a Ford Racing decal made to put on them.

Newbie here! Can someone let me know what the process is to take these off and what I need to do before hand? Is this something I can do if I don't know anything about cars? Or should I take it somewhere?
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything is still filthy, but here ya go. I tried to match the cam covers to the plenum cover, but ended up having to paint the plenum cover to match the cam covers. I don't really recommend it. I do love my custom decals, though. Only $5 each from Graphics-n-Motion, a local sign company!

Whew, glad this older thread popped back up. I'm gonna really need those pdfs to put my covers back on. Those might be good to add to the main thread??? I'm really looking forward to this mod. Hope I don't screw anything up putting them back on I'm gonna go by a torque wrench!!

Am looking at getting these as well. Are they actually chromed or just painted with chrome like paint?

I just put my red flake metallic covers on this past friday and headed to a local car show on sunday. Word of warning, even with a better looking car, you'll still lose to a stock vette if the show has mostly vette owners voting!

All in all the install wasn't too hard, and the overall dressup in the engine bay is so much nicer.
