I'll get the rope.....
hey grantsdale.... hope you're still around
My first post, but I've been lurking for a while. Please excuse me if I've offended anyone with this
:
I know this was in another thread, but I couldn't find it during my search. But I remember a thread about the IUP. Someone asked if it was real aluminum on the dash. I think Brad quoted some literature that indicated the aluminum was real. Or maybe it was just that the rings around the vents were real alum.
I sat in a MG GT yesterday with IUP. Now, I love the car
and will probably get one w/IUP, but it sure didn't feel like real alum. to me. Not on the dash, or the steering wheel, or the rings on the vents.
Did I miss something, again, I'm not trying to diminish the interior quality or anything, but I was expecting real aluminum.

I will either take it & drive it for a month or so & trade it in

Nope. In fact since mine is a Ford replacement I would actually come out way ahead. Because with a buy back Ford is just replaceing my VIN number, we pay what the 05 is over my bottom MSRP & taxes on that, & I keep my same payments for the next 4 years.
So, like I said I would actually come out WAY ahead. Without really loosing anything.

I got it covered:
Having a 2k5 without IUP is like having a ice cream sundae without a cherry on top!
WTF is Ford thinking!!!???!!

Hello! My understanding is that IUP is a required option on V6 if you order side air bags. So the questions are: would Ford lift this requirement? Would people ordering V6 with the side air bags be unaffected by the IUP hold(unlikely I assume)? Also, is there a website that can tell me status of my order based on the order number or do I need to call dealer? Ford? Thanks.

Actually it's like hot fudge sundae, without the hot fudge, whipped cream, & cherry!
