I was just wondering if it was possible to have the IUP package installed as an aftermarket item if you purchase an 05 that does not have the IUP????

Everything but the Message Center and MyColor instrument cluster would be fairly easy. I would imagine the parts for which could be purchased at your local ford dealerships parts counter, however I can't imagine it would be an easy install.

They probably arnt' going to have it as a dealer installed option. But their dealers's service departments service manuals will include details about the system, so I imagine it might be possible to make an arangement with the your dealers service department to install it.

There's some company out there with a brand called Gem-something and they have so many awesome colors like the pic below -- red carbon fiber, regular CB, aluminum, etc. Once they get the specs for the 05', they'll have OEM fit dash kits for the whole interior, I am sure. I personally would like the regular Carbon Fiber on the center console and the door rests or something...

It's a little more than that. It monitors Engine Functions, Tire Pressure, Things like that as well. The IUP would be almost impossible to install at the dealer. It would require replacing the entire Guage Cluster, and there are too many sensors and related items to install.

As for the Aluminum on the Dash, the Passenger airbag cover on the IUP is a two piece aluminum door, basicaly that is seperated across the center. From the pic's I've seen the Base Dash has a One Piece Plastic cover for the Passenger airbag, that probably splits across a hidden seam in the same location where the Aluminum has the seperation. If you like the IUP just order it or find one with it, or you'll regret it! I definitly want the IUP myself.
