Check around for an agent who sells 'Mercury Insurance'. I just switched from GEICO to Mercury Insurance and it was just a few dollars shy from cutting my rates IN HALF! Yes, both 6-month policies with similar coverages. They're not a nationwide company yet, but they do write policies in NY. Check them out online.

Thats fine, thats a common practice. Women are considered safer drivers then men. Studies prove this.
What is wrong is a company declaring one age (25) as adult for women and another (30) for men. Thats illegal.

Washington State..... age 48, full coverage 1114 per year....no tickets/accidents in last 25 years. Paid Cash for the car, so I may play with my coverage a little bit. I have all the confidence in the world that i will not cause any accidents.....it's the other idiot without insurance I worry about.

better safe than sorry
even if someone T bones your car the insurance will deem it both parties fault
