Ok, this is primarally for people in NY. What are you approx paying on insurance per year? I'm just trying to get an estimate. I'm 25 and going for full coverage. Is full coverage what most people have by the way?

Actually at age 25, your insurance should go down. It is from 16 - 24 that insurance is high for males, no matter what car they have. Chaeck around and see what rates are for you. If your record is good, your rate should be THAT bad!!
Of course, plan to pay a little more for the GT V-8.
Good luck.

Lucky for me ( I guess), I am a 34 year old female, so my insurance only went up $17 more a month from a 2003 Mazda 6i ( 4 cyl). to the 2005 Mustang GT! SWWWEEEEEETTTTTT

Whew!!

I wouldn't hold your breath on the insurance going down at 25. I don't know if this is different for other states, but my agent told me that I wasn't considered an adult if until I turn 30, because I'm a male. for females, it's 25. I didn't know this until this last summer when I got married. My agent says to me, " oh good, now we can rate you as an adult." ..... and the rest is history. ... so yeah... for males it's either 30 or 25+ married.
Again, that will probably vary per state and may even vary per insurance carrier.... shop around and ask questions like that.
And usually a finance company will require full coverage to protect their investments, so, yeah.... everyone's going to have full coverage unless they're paid off.

www.statefarm.com
www.geico.com
www.progressive
etc...

fill out some ins quotes. I found that when I was shopping for ins in 2001 that geico was the cheapest but I went with state farm who was a close second so that I have an agent I can visit.

just curious.... when you're shopping for insurance, do you have to give your SS # or can that wait until you actually go with a specific company?

I don't think you have to give them your SS# until you decide. It's usually optional when getting quotes. They usually ask for it to check your credit to give you a better quote I think.

I'm paying $1440 a year for insurance on a GT. I use State Farm.

99% of people will never understand why we say insurance is retarded here in NY

when i got my 96 V6 mustang with clean record in 1998 allstate wanted 6000 a year for full coverage with 1k deductible for collision..8k a year for a GT

now im 26 with 1 speeding ticket that will vanish in march on a 92 probe with just liability most companies are asking 3k a year LOL

needless to say ive been on my parents insuance from day 1

when i lived in florida i was shocked when my girls mustang insurance was 50 bucks a month down there i was like holy FARKNARDS! then when we moved back 4 months later it jumped to 150 heh

but shes a 26 yr old female with a perfect record

Unfortunate that Insurance companies seem to think that way.

I just played a quote from Geico.... $3020 for 6 mo. I'm in Denver. I'm married, 28 years old, my wife is 30 .... uh, I mean 25... and she has a perfect record. I have 1 ticket and it was for minor speeding.... yellow Mustangs stick out of a crouwd, apperantly.... and that was with state minimums as far as BI/PD and deductables. I know Colorado is hig, but thank God it's not as it is in NY/NJ or other zoos.
I'm not extremely pleased to get that rate, but I was content seeing that I'm within a hundred bucks a month compaired to the same coverage on my '91 Bronco.
I had to get used to paying about $400 a mo. on my '98... 'cause I was younger when I got that. It wasn't any different for my '88, either. $400 a mo.

I am 20 with a clean driving record and my current insurance company wanted almost $250 a month so i switched to Geico and they are giving me full coverage for less that 200 per month which is only $25 more than i was paying for my 01 explorer! So check around first! B)

Insanity. I feel MUCH better about the rates I am getting now. I thought I had it bad cause I was living in Phoenix, but some of these numbers are stupid.

I've been with Geico now for 12 years or so, clean record. I asked them how much it would run to add a 05 Stang to the stable, and got quoted 1050 per 6 months. That is for 2 cars, full coverage on both, 100k/300k coverage, 250 deductible, full glass (rocks in Arizona stink). I also called USAA to see what they would be like, and got an initial quote of like 985 per 6 months. Once in a blue moon, being in the military gives you a leg up somewhere.

Ford Insurance Program!!!!! 1-877-367-3847 choose option 8 at the automated voice, and then 3053. My name is John Tony Williams. 11:00 to 8:00 Monday to Friday. I will be happy to answer any questions anyone has about Insurance. Especially on Ford vehicles. If you would like a quote, just have your policy handy when you call. We are usually more competitive than geico.

I went shopping about a year ago and found the best deal through Ford Insurance. They fixed me up with a company called Esurance. Rate is approx. $800.00 a year for the 2005 Mustang GT on a full-coverage, multi-car plan.

I'm a 66-year-old youngster with a good driving record.

Live in Michigan.

You should probably get new insurance. Thats against the law for them to rate "adult" at two different ages for male and female.
