I'm venting here...am I the only one?

When my boss at the time gave me a hard time about my 85 GT I told her to sell her Volvo and give me $40K and I'll buy whatever she wants me to drive--then I took the issue up with the HR Dept. Eventually I wound up getting the company Jeep to drive (Grand Cherokee Turbo Diesel) and made sure to fire it up in the parking garage about 5-10 minutes before she came in every morning She smelled like diesel smoke all morning!! Now I'm at a different company and the folks there understand that I'm a car guy and they're happy I'm driving what I love to drive. If he has issues with your car then you should talk to him and find out his specific reasons--if he's just being a jerk then take up the issue with HR or upper management.

He brought this new idea forward duing my review that it looked "like a show car" and that I should not add anything additional to the exterior. Yesterday, he said that it was too loud and that I needed to "watch it" when pulling out because it was too loud and would give negative aspect to customers...
But more to the point, tell your boss that if he's going to dictate the kind of car you drive, then he can start paying for it (since it is being used for work anyway....hopefully you do get mileage at least).
If not....find another job.
